It would be incredibly difficult to balance ammo capacity with TTK. I feel like it's petty good as is because, to be fair in Battletech, mechs actually die faster than in this game.

Problem with ttk??
Pinpoint alpha at 1000m...

If tt had such accuracy 1v1 would drop mechs in single turn and things like stock kgc would drop 3 locusts in single turn if they all happened to be in front of him.

One shots happened in BT too you know. At long ranges even. :)

"happened" assumes chance.

Im well aware that full alpha into ct killed mechs, but how often such alpha happened. Here its regular occurence and only saving grace is double armor.

TTK seems just about right to me. Those of you who complain about it need to stop piloting light and medium mechs and switch to 100 ton assualts I suppose? You're maybe just not cut out for less tonnage?

When spectating through other's cockpits I too often see pilots chasing down a mech right into the LoS of several more. I guess they then feel compelled to come to the forums and complain about their TTLive. Perhaps instead try not to establish LoS with more than one mech at a time? That's what I do whenever I'm not piloting a speedy hard to hit light mech.

Hope I didn't offend people with that last post. As often the case being, was being a bit facetious yet again. My bad!

Seriously, if one peeks over a hill and sees multiple mechs, either throw down an air/artillery strike or move back down and creep around the side of hill/building just enough to establish LoS with just one enemy mech. Shoot that guy. After he dies creep around a tad bit more to again establish LoS with just one enemy mech. Now shoot that guy.

Hope this helps?

I actually tend to live longer in mad than in kgc.
But that got nothing to do with ttk, if i get face time against 3-4 laservomit alphas im dead and how long does it take?? 1s??
****, do a coordinated rush on cw, 1 minute and 12 mechs on either team are dead or crippled to the point where they cant fight and thats with travelling between shots.

1v1? I say 60 points of lazerpinpoint x 12 man firing line.. torso twist that and we can keep talking.

What do people expect to happen in a 1v12? Are we supposed to run out of ammo before we kill anything?

Ah, yes! My flippant posts actually earned me a quote. Throw enough poop and some is sure to stick they say. My work is done here. Goal of the day achieved. No, wait a moment? ... Yes, I've been encouraged to trudge along! Thank you, kind sir!

Definitely my main concern with this whole TTLive campaign!! Hopefully if they're successful our ammo per ton will be increased a good bit?

I also assume those who want the TTLive increased are Inner Spear players who want to be able to more easily close the gap on the longer range of Clan mechs. Increase TTL will result in more up close Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots.

If it's a regular occurrence for you, then I suggest you try torso twisting. It works wonders!

Tell that to ppl in my last kdk3 match where 6 guys in row were blown by alpha just after i or them cleared corner.

Torso twisting will only get you so far, but if you tell me that you can spread dmg so effectively over 0.85s then gz, i dont see that many mechs losing both side torsos before dying, even those with shield arms, but then i dont play at tournaments.

Sounds like they need some coaching. Funny thing is, I routinely take newbies who don't understand the basic mechanics of MWO, teach them to torso twist, and then get to watch them last significantly longer in a battle. Based on my experiences, I think a lot of it comes down to comprehension and, sometimes, you just need to point something out to someone in a friendly manner for them to grasp the concept.

That being said, KDK-3s aren't exactly invincible.

Did you watch the video? There's footage of me doing precisely that to a KDK-3 and then killing it. It's definitely possible if you think about what you're doing while you're fighting. MWO really is a thinking shooter; you don't think, and you'll get cut down where you stand. If you keep your head and order your thought processes though, then you can defeat better Mechs than yours and win matches consistently.

Here's something that seem to be a common problem for people with premature death issues: they go around or over blind corners and crests way too quickly.

Too many people corner"peek" or hill crest at full speed, run into OMG MISTAKE, can't back up in time and die.

If you are rounding a corner SLOW DOWN so you can brake in time. If you have to then plan out a route that takes you into cover without stopping.

I don't recall a single game recently where I said to myself, hmm, I died more quickly than I deserved. The mechs in the game are plenty though. Just don't do stupid **** with them.

I keep seeing people complaining about ttk beeing too short and demanding to be increased by all sorts of mechanics. And I fear that 90% of them have no idea of what they are talking about.

TTK is in a pretty good spot now. even too long in some cases.

this is an online shooting game. it is not TT. You can start a new game at any moment. you can pick a new mech whenever you want. no one wants a drop to take several hours to complete.

if you dont think TTK is fine...do some lobby games 1v1. same weight class, similat mechs. see how long it takes a mech to be killed.

we dont need a longer ttk, we need people to learn to play a mech. we need a better tutorial, we need a better training ground, and people need to take those courses and learn.

For those who die too fast - TTK can be doubled if you learn to twist well...tripled if you learn to twist and spread the damage.

How low can you go ? have you played this game ? you will see that ttk its pretty fine where it is. stop asking for artificial mechanics to increase it.

It goes doubly-so because mech acceleration/deceleration curves are actually faster at the lower speeds. Our mechs accel/decel much slower at higher speeds.

IMO Mechwarrior shouldn't be about corner peeking in the first place, that's a World of Tanks thing.

Never played WoT, so I don't know about that. I do know that I did a lot of corner peaking in the MW4 franchise though. I also know that, in every single situation I can think of, fighting from cover will trump fighting out in the open.
