They got most of the tactics covered. Now, other viable mechs for IS Scouting are the Wolfhound (I prefer 1 Flamer 4 ML. Biggest XL Engine and lots of DBL HS) Its well armored, Fast (about 141+kph), and decent firepower. I'd also suggest a few "Cool Shots" as Flaming mechs and shooting all 4 Med Lasers gets a little toasty.

Firestarter's, With Flamers and Lasers, Against the Mediums it'll make them so hot that they can't fire more than one or 2 salvos before they shut down, allowing you to kill them (preferably as a team).

If working with a team a Narc Raven with a LRM Mech, + 2 Other fast brawly teammates is also effective.

I piloted a myst lynx in scout mode. Its the ultimate scout: its small. ECM. jump jets. active probe.
...and I got chased down and torn a new one every time something else saw me. 0 victories.

Actually, now that I think about it, the best mech for ninja capping may actually be the SDR-5D with STD255 engine. Much harder to hit than the Cicada, and it has ECM and STD engine and jump jets too.

Tactics wise the most common idea seems to run off, get intel, even on defence, get murdered one by one, lose to a single.locust / myst linx because of running off, or getting intel.
Although the order of events is varying this is what at you have to expect dropping solo.
Try to find buddies that have a similar mindset to yours, at least you can prevent the "getting killed one by one".

Run a Yen Lo Wang. It's a Crow killer.

That videos title is totally ignoring that you had teammates actually taking the main fire of the crows Posted Image

But thats the mode, swarm around the other mechs and core some backs.

Sure, it's a team game. That should be taken for granted. If you think you can solo it, then it doesn't matter what Mech you take; you're going to die.

That being said, I'm not the only one running a Centurion. A lot of my buddies have been running YLWs and AHs to great effect. We're massacring the SCRs right now. It's funny to see them cry in the global chat.

Griffins work well too, btw. I just don't own any.

As IS, it was in 4vs4 that I saw the AWESOMENESS that are flamers.

Cant recall who but I dropped with a 2 member team of MS before they switched to Clan and they had a few flamers on their mechs. OMG those Stormcrows didnt stand a chance... they would overheat after a single salvo and boom we could rip them apart.

In a 12vs12 a flamer might not be that great cause even if you overheat 1 enemy there is 11 more to cream you... but in a 4vs4, one shutdown mech is basically 25% of their firepower gone or scared to alpha... so yea... exchange some of those small lasers for flamers and go to town!

especially "OP streak crows" I need to uplaod a vid later of the perfect example of how streaks actually suck, as we witnessed when we were watching the last teammate trying to streak down a yellow cored blackjack.

Yeah, I actually relax a bit when I see that the SCRs are all Streak Crows and not lasers or SRMs. Those worry me a little but the Streak Crows aren't all that bad at all.

Stop running a light. Run a beefy medium and engage to kill the enemy before getting intel.

Though this might result in a win for you personally, it does very little to nothing to play the mode while NOT gathering any intel. If you are just killing mechs and ending the mode with less intel them the enemy you arent helping the invasion forces at all.

If you just wanna fight, go to 12 man. If you want to scout play scout mode.

If you didnt get 11-15 you didnt do very well in the mode. Just fighting
