Because running around collecting beacons with bright lights and fancy beeps and boops is the high point of immersion, right? I guess you'd prefer to collect worthless consumables, single medium lasers, and other grab-bag like elements?

I can answer "not really" to both of your rethorical questions :)

The thing I instantly imagine since reading this in the road map is a light queue higher than 50%. Half of the pug match line up will be light mechs. And as soon as the match starts every ones running off in different directions to find that stupid crate. Leaving only 2-3 mechs behind that actually look for a fight Posted Image

I kind of want collecting crates to require hand actuators. Of course, then I would want a raid game mode where one side was trying to steal stuff from an enemy supply depot (or both sides collecting from a neutral one).

Hmm... is it just me or is Russ a bit... disinterested of late? Drinking during town halls, late roadmaps... somebody should probably check that he's alright after the flood of hate mail he's probably received from the supply cache controversy.

Look, I like PGI for what it's done; I've bought their products, I've done giveaways for the community, and I've even became a Moderator because I find this place to be of a sorts, a home away from home.

But this? Crates? I'll have to say:

Hear, hear.
Maybe we shouldn't kill the scout after all ;-)

Loot crates disgust me, and have ruined plenty of F2P games once the developers take it too far and allow them to be purchased for real money. Then they turn into a loophole to solicit online gambling using virtual goods as the prize.

No thanks.

Instead of power up loot crates.
Change it to supply depots with supplies.
I mean come on PGI use some damn imagination here.
Or better yet turn it into a new mode.
Defend the depot or capture the depot.
Did some crates just drop off the dang dropship?
The utter lack of imagination is killing you PGI.
