As a mercenary, is there no way to switch faction now? Before this glorious new phase, you could pay to reduce it to 2 days left. Now I can't find any option at all?

I dont know how true it is, but Ive heard that if you disband your Unit (if you are solo) it automatically cancels any contract without any penalties.

Then just create a new solo Unit and start all over with the Faction you want

But again, I dont know how true it is.

Simple, Lets say Unit 1 has a contract with Clan Wolf. One of the unit members makes an Alt Account creates Unit 2 and signs a contract with Davion.

Players from Unit 1 can play a match for Wolf then leave the unit ( which sets them back as freelancer), join Unit 2 and play a match for Davion and then switch back to Unit 1 and play for Wolf again.

Works best for small Merc Units of course cause you have to pay to join a Unit every time but who cares bout 50 or 100k c-bills.

U could even make 1 Unit for each faction and jump around after each match.

It was a 3 day period in CW Phase 2.

In FP (Phase 3) your only option to get rid of the mercenary contract (THAT part is important ... loyalists don´t get a "get out of jail for free" card ... they have to stay the full week) before the time is up is to leave the unit.

If it is a one man unit, you change to freelancer (by disbanding the unit, for which you can change directly to freelancer or disband the unit manually) and after that create your old unit again. The TAG and name are free as soon as you disband the unit. After creating the unit again you can switch.

The alternative with multiple units was already shown by Count Zero 74

Thanks guys, thought this might work but wasn't sure if it incurred any penalties :)
