Being in a long distance relationship can be hard. Very hard. Especially when it becomes long distance after being together for over a year. So it's new to me. We now live nine hundred miles apart. But I got a surprise yesterday in the mail. She knows I love MWO and anything to do with BattleTech or Mech warrior. But we also fight alot. And it's mostly because I'm playing MWO and ignoring her. Not really on purpose I just get into the game too much. Nevertheless she surprised me with an amazing gift. Something I didn't expect.

I opened the package go find a MechWarrior Solaris VII Heavy Class Table top game. Holy Crap!!! I have never played a MW TT or BattleTech TT but have Always wanted one. It came with 6 Heavy class Mech Figurines made especially for this TT. A few of the mechs I never heard of. But it came with a Catapult, Rifleman, Werewolf, cave lion, Neanderthal and The Mortis. Along with a cool double sided playable map. Got some dice. All the cards including the pilots and perks. Basically a whole Mini TT since there are the other class boxes to add on if I wanted to buy those. I have never played a MW TT and the rule book is kind of confusing. But I'm very excited to play. Couldn't of asked for a better gf. Wow. Anyone else played MW Solaris before? If so let me know. I would like to get the light class next to add to the game.

I honestly wasn't even sure what a Solaris Heavy was, only Solaris I ever saw was way back in the day, the S7 rulebook with dueling rules and maps. I assume what you have is a boxed version with figurines, very cool. Congrats. Keep her, and remember to not ignore her, at least after you die in the match. ;)

i was in a long range relationship back in my early 20s with a fat girl in canada who i had known since i was 13. i think we played quake or whatever. this turned out to be more difficult than i had originally planned. very hard to maintain good relations in the presence of nymphomaniac sister in law. anyway the cat came out of the bag when i was video conferencing with her when nsil had to get in view completely nude and grab my manhood. thus ending my long range relationship and marking the second year of 4 years of debauchery. i wish you better luck in your relationship than i had.

Im not quite managing to wrap my mind around this relationship.

If shes a sister in law doesn't it mean shes married to your brother?

Oh wow man. Well..her and I have been together for a long time and she recently had to move. So it's new. It's hard man. So I'm going to find work there and move. She is worth it. It's funny when you love someone. Seems like the world stops. Best thing that's ever happened to me and now I have a MW TT wooooohooooo

well that was back in the early 00s. since then they got divorced because of completely unrelated circumstances (my brother met a nurse at work and they got kinky). i spent a couple more months with her when she was single back in 2008. i was gonna propose but someone else got to it first, but he beat her and she moved to texas, i sure as hell wasnt going to texas. after that i decided to be gay.

Ok, that single paragraph just managed to pack in more bombshells than an episode of Geraldo.

As my head is now spinning im taking this as i a sign that i shall retire to bed and stop jacking Nathaniel's thread....

yea, i make poor choices when it comes to relationships, or they backfire in horrible, horrible ways. i dont even trust my therapist enough to get into that dirt, and i dont like to dwell in the past. i what lemmy would call a damage case. its amazing how motorhead has a song for everything. also lets never revisit this subject, im going to have my meds doubled.

looks like MWDA, not actual TT, but still quite usable for it, or one could go quick and easy and use them as Clix.

Either way, nice.

But when listed it, I was having visions of the old TT Boxset being updated and rereleased with Minis.

That would have been epic beyond words.

Maybe she figures it's the only way she'll get to spend some face to face time with you when you're next in the same place.
