I have a new mech i have named "Reach Out" because it does just that. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...86637a0758403fe

As you can see from the link it has potential and i have even battle tested it with great success against lights to assualts and all times scoring a minimum of over 300 damage and that is before i added the advanced zoom module.

So... it's like a shadowhawk pop tart from back in the day?

I don't understand this build or how 300dmg is a big deal.

OP, try 3 LPL on a Hunchie IIC. You'll love it.

Sure if you're boring.

2CERPPC and 6SPL or 6CERSL on the other hand? Fun.

HBK-IIC-C

though why I would waste time on the Gauss, when I could do this instead?
HBK-IIC-A

IDK.

not as risky, but getting half your mech blown off, because also "Clan lack of uber structure quirks" still leaves it less than truly desirable, IMO.

Gauss is his main weapon. Once that blows, there is really no point worrying about the rest.

agreed, which is why I consider it a less than desirable build to begin with. And hey, if he's having fun, and isn't an outright liability to his team, then more power to him.

But that build, as a sniper, not great. Only real thing recommending it is gauss velocity, but since very little of this game is truly played at extreme ranges... it's more a paper advantage than anything.

And mind you, if he truly is keeping out at extreme ranges where the velocity matters, then his damage is probably not optimal, and that's 50 tons of questionable support value to the team, since one can long range snipe all day with ERLLs, C-LPLs, etc, more effectively, overall.

the biggest reason i love the gauss as a sniper is because the round is much more hard to pinpoint where it came from where as energy weapons and auto cannons to a lessor extent have a big finger pointing back to the firers location and thus opening you up to counter sniping.
