8v8 was fun. People would try different **** because you weren't always going to get vaporized immediately by a firing line. That didn't always promote the wisest behaviors (since you could get a way with a certain amount of dumb ****), but it did get people our of lockstep mentalities about playing every map and match the same way (NASCAR).
Tbh, sometimes I kinda think there should just be an 8v8 "training wheels" low-tier mode for the game. It certainly made for a more forgiving learning environment when you were just starting out and surrounded by a bunch of other clueless people.
