You can turn it off in the settings, but most don´t, even many t1 /Comp players, becasue its not annoying or otherwise bothering /distracting in any way.

But there´s a very select group of people that feel they run the Church of Skill^TM main office atop Mount Tryhard^TM that feel that anything they can do to make theyselves seem "OMFG soooo much bettah" than everyone else must be done at all times. Im sure even noobs can be offended at the game telling them which direction they are moving.

Also i'm sure this has been said before, but most of us aren't impressed by seal clubbing, when then names are of those of significant skill, then maybe, just maybe you will get noticed.
