Since both have had plenty of threads calling for it...
Which one do you think will be nerfed first Locust or Kodiak??? (not which you want, which do you think PGI will nerf first)

And if you think nerfs are due...
Which would you nerf first?
Which do you think needs the bigger nerfs?
What would your nerfs be?

edit:
So while what you want nerfed is part of the question the real question is do you think PGI will make the same decision?

So your answer would be something like
"I think x should be nerfed first because of (reasons) but I think y will be nerfed first because of (other reasons).

Then if you think nerfs are due you could say something like
"x and y should both be nerfed by doing (nerfs)
y needs the bigger nerfs"
Or you could just say neither needs nerfed or only one does.

As a kd3 and locust pilot, I'm fine with nerfs to either.

I'll demand cash back for my kdk to put twords a Daka dashi.

And I'll come to the forums and b I t c h to buff all the other lights that are as big as fkn mediums like the rest of you babies

No reason to nerf the Locust. It's a nuisance but it's not really swinging games.

Kodiaks will get nerfs right after they are available for C-Bills or just before. Locusts? Leave them be.

It's PGI, so the first one is true, but it's also PGI, so they're gonna gank the LOLcust in some way too

Remember, it's a Light robot, and "#PGIPLZ nerf lights"

The kd3 only needs to lose its quirks, it was the only variant that shouldn't have gotten quirks. The kd1/5 should get the mobility quirks instead (the structure quirks would also be nice but are unneeded). But that is a dream that will probably not happen due to how pgi balances things, instead we will see blanket nerfs to uacs which will hurt the direwolf and the upcoming night gyr (and maybe the ebon jag/orion/highlander but they can't carry as much as the others) instead of addressing the main issue. Plus the CT on the kodiak still needs to be fixed.

Locusts (and all mechs imo) just need to lose the beam duration quirks, and heat gen should be removed while giving them trudubs. Offensive quirks that change how a weapon functions should be phased out and structure quirks should be given instead, good offensive quirks would be to reduce the chance of having weapons blow up and last longer (less likely to be critted). I also believe that mobility quirks need to go too so that we can get a reworked pilot skill tree that lets us chose how we want our mech to function, I would gladly give up turn rate/acceleration for the ability to walk over that freaking tiny rock that blocks me and then gets glued to my foot.

I'm asking for too much anyways, so back to lurking and waiting.

The KDK-3 is easy mode on legs and, when engaged by a skilled pilot, an easy kill! The KDK-1 is far nastier with it's torso mounted damage spiking potential.

Locust.

90% of the playerbase never touches lights and when a light is remotely strong they ***** endlessly so PGI chooses to accommodate them. That's fine though. I've got my next 3 troll lights lined up and ready to go, and no I'm not saying which ones they are until the lolcust gets roflnerfed into the ground.

*Edit* The light doesn't have to actually BE strong, but if the low skill assault types (seriously back against a wall dummy) get killed by a certain mech 3 or 4 times it's now OP. Never mind that if they brought arm mounted lasers or could aim they wouldn't be having so much trouble... lights are ez mode that's why they make up about 10% of the player base.

Can u explain us why your "easy killed" KDK-3 did from 5172 to 3775 in the leaderboard, while your nastier KDK-1 did from 4014 to 2419?

(why does people judge without clue? why don't you look at real data?)

wait... plenty of threads calling for a locust nerf??? I have seen one in the patch feedback which I can't take serious. I must have missed a few.

Ok, the KDK-3 is a beast but I (finally) learned how to deal with it. Meanwhile I like to attack them in my meds or fast heavies. It's challenging / entertaining but doable Posted Image but that's maybe just me.

You are mistaken in your belief that just because PGI intentionally nerfs strong mechs after C-Bill release, they also intentionally release strong mechs. Those two are different things. PGI does not try to make all new mechs too strong, or too weak--they actually try to balance it pre-emptively. However, should a mech gets released with a lot of strong points, PGI will gladly milk it for player money before nerfing it. In Phawk's case, it wasn't strong.

Get it?

"Nerf the locust".

Good lord. Has this community REALLY come to this? Does it hear what it's saying when it says silly things like that?

I get what your saying, I just more chalk it up to a poor reaction to balancing (or believing it is fine where it is) than some type conspiracy theory about milking an OP chassis for money.

It's like...

They try to balance, but if it is OP, they leave it set as is to earn a little extra cash. If they know it is OP and leave it for that purpose, that is intentionally and knowingly commiting dishonest tactics.

If they are already prone to dishonest tactics then, why at that point wouldn't they get bold with their quirks on all their chassis and go..."oops our bad" and play dumb and make some additional money that way off of every release?

Why be dishonest one way but honest another?

It just seems like a contradiction of behavior. I'm just more prone to believing they don't see a balance issue or are too slow to respond.

That's just my take though.

Most likely because the Kodiak (KDK-3 in particular) is strong but not gamebreakingly strong enough to warrant immediate nerfs. The majority of the player base are tolerating it in matches. Which means PGI can sit back and earn some extra cash without feeling pressured enough to balance it while it is not even out for MC.

My point will be automatically validated should PGI does indeed nerf the Kodiak after or just before C-Bill release so I'll just wait.

As for PGI's poor reaction to balancing, I said PGI "tries to balance", but never said they are competent at the task. Posted Image

kdk needs it's geometry reworked to lower the ballistic hardpoints. The removal of movement quirks of all kinds is also certainly in order.

As far as the locust... I think a couple of the quirks are a little over the top but as others have said, it's not a significant enough issue to sway games. Imo the locust needs some very fine modest "Detailing" in terms of a couple of it's quirks.

There is no good reason to nerf the locust, it just went from fun gimmick to actually decent, but it's not anywhere near being a top tier mech or overpowered.

The Kodiak 3 does need a small nerf, but all the Kodiaks also need proper hitboxes, so that makes two rather urgent fixes needed for Kodiak but no real need to change the locusts.

Lights in general needs buffing though, especially the ones that were upscaled.
