Alternatively:
-they might also be leveling a 'mech like you,

-they might be new (you'll queue up with Tier 5 until you reach Tier 2)
-they might be having a losing streak and getting progressively more impulsive as the rage mounts
-they might just be a**hats who want to do their own thing, who think they know best, and will rage at everyone for the rest of the game after they yolo in an XL half-armor Rifleman
-they might be sick of playing with rage-filled a**hats and therefore muted all in-game comms long ago

Or they might be trying to get just three ducking minutes of footage for YouTube....

Take a look at the thread headline. I don't know but accepting my loses is not what I call entertainment nor do I want to waste my time for losing streaks. Once, twice, three times happens but when it becomes constant, it failed to provide what a game should provide.

If there wasn't a FP where I can drop with a team, I would have quit this bs long ago again already. And I am actually close to quit this too.

You should not play QP and then there would be no need for you to make a thread like this. Right now, I feel the same way about FP as you do about QP. I do not find it to be fun so I do not play it at the present. At some point, in the future, I will probably join a unit that appeals to me and give it another go but right now QP is fun for me (most of the time) where as CW/FW/FP has never been fun for me, even when playing in a unit and winning.

I'm sorry, allow me to amend my post to

Git gud or git out.

Seriously, it's multiplayer TDM, what do you expect?

If the post is "PGI Needs to create additional content beyond three variants of TDM" then there's something to debate. But "experience" is inherently subjective. Sorry you hate it. Go back to FP. I'd rather have people not play than ***** about how QP sucks.

I honestly cannot fathom what you want from a multiplayer game?

Are you asking for PvE?

On average, an average player in a multiplayer game will have a 50% win rate.

So for every euphoric winning streak you'll have a soul-crushing losing streak.

So I'll repeat:

Accept your losses, and move on with the game.

Or refuse to accept your losses, and move on with your life.

hey guys :)

...good thoughts here and there...you have to make your own fun. There are a bunch of "games" or challenges to play. I look at it like this, either you're up for the challenge, or not. You can cry like a little girl, or man up and solve the problem. Make your own happiness, or your own pain. It's on you, in your own head, to figure out how to do that...

Yeah, it's a b' when you're given a wad of scrum to deal with, you who are "serious" about getting better. Myself included. I like winning, I dunno about you people who don't...but...ok. I like the playground analogy, because that's what it is like in a lot of other ways....I like to tease people and say there's all kinds of ways to look at this. Sometimes I'll say, "You know what I'm imaging now?....A dance troupe!"

wtf, man-up, no-drama and don't be a d-bag...Is that so hard?!

Why yes, of course for some percentage it is!

Let's cater to these guys!

What?!

8-)

This is also a huge factor. 99% of the time, I'm on the comms or listening to what's on the comms. The other day I silently disagreed with the guy calling the PUG match (had family sleeping in the other room so couldn't talk), did my own thing...and we lost. And I don't know if the other dude was right, but I was certainly wrong.

So not only are you dealing with the people who do their own thing 99% of the time, you're also dealing with the people who do their own thing 1% of the time.
And with 12 people, it's practically likely that even at high tier play, one of those people (who may be an excellent player) is distracted/goofing off/loaded the wrong ammo/spilled his drink/just dun goofed.

Period. Solo-Q is one thing only: A zen exercise.

Here's what you need to do OP:

1. Do your best.
2. Do your best to guide and influence your team.
3. Do your best to acknowledge and listen to others trying to do #2. Don't me me in my anecdote above.
4. Accept that you cannot change or affect your team beyond doing 1-3. If you lose, you lose. Accept also that some people in your team might be idiots. Alternatively:
-they might also be leveling a 'mech like you,
-they might be drunk
-they might be new (you'll queue up with Tier 5 until you reach Tier 2)
-they might be having a losing streak and getting progressively more impulsive as the rage mounts
-they might just be a**hats who want to do their own thing, who think they know best, and will rage at everyone for the rest of the game after they yolo in an XL half-armor Rifleman
-they might be sick of playing with rage-filled a**hats and therefore muted all in-game comms long ago

It's a real grab-bag of players and reasons.

Do your best.

Accept your losses.

Rinse and repeat.
Best way I've seen it put.

I don't know if you are in an unit or not, your pic says lonewolf but that could also mean that your unit didnt pick a fraction atm, anyhow, if you are not in an unit that plays frequently and you don't find fun in FP because all you can do is drop solo there, then yes, you would have the very same reason for complains as I have. That is the whole point of the thread, that whole gamemodes in this game are not entertaining for the one or the other for reasons that lay in failures of the mechanic. It is bad that PGI can't get the gamemodes straight. They tried help people like you with splitting the queue but that didn't work out because the playerbase is so low that a split queue means even less matches for everyone. So now solo players are fckd in FP when they meet organized teams. This makes a huge part of the game, which actually was once meant to be the main section, unplayable for too many. PGI really needs to get their guts together and fix this mess of a game.

Silly me, I thought a roughly 8:1 tonnage advantage wouldn't result in four dead 'Mechs and a barely scratched light while the roughly 2:1 deal on my end meant I was down to two MPLs and internal structure. My ability to gauge reasonable matchups must be terrible.

That it happened takes a "team" whose primary talent is picking their nose until they hit brain matter.

I'm the complete opposite. I will never touch CW again (yeah...last time i played CW it was still called that.) as long as those horrible maps are used.
Only ordinary pugging skirmish for me. I don't care much about how well my team does as long as i got fun.

The rating system isn't properly equipped to deal with skill across very different queues.

You can be a very good team player, but not all that great at solo play. You might have fun in Group Quick Play or Faction Play, then hate the Solo versions because you're no longer part of a team and can't carry on your own.

Vice versa, lone wolf Solo play tactics that work very well in Solo Quick Play are going to get you killed real fast in Group Quick Play or Faction Play.

It's not "git gud". It's "age quod agis." When you venture out of your comfort zone, expect to have a bad time.

After a longer time stayin away from QP and playing FP only (edit: YES, IN A TEAM) I thought about giving it a try. However losing more than 10 games in a row is nothing that comes anywhere near "fun" or "entertaining". And yes, the teams I was in totally lost with reason. Assaults hiding behind a hill while lights and mediums die at the front, various people pleading for a push in chat, being totally ignored. Brawlers running into a bunch of enemies completely alone and isolated. People trying to call targets over VOIP while no one gives a flying **** about focussing that target. After 3 years PGI has still not managed to get a Matchmaker that's able to build team people can enjoy on either side. The amount of games that ain't lost after the first few minutes and become an entertaining, exciting close match - even if lost - gets no where near 10% of all matches played.

Why am I writing that at all? It seems that PGI won't give a **** about player experience anyhow.

inb4 git gud

Well it's same with FW anyway ... matchs are really uninteresting since freelancers are back in group queue

Too easy or too hard it don't give any challenge >>> also boring for goods players and horrible for casuals players who left ( check steam numbers )

Anyway what new trick PGI will find for get news players now? a GoG launch maybe ?? or maybe a new mechs with 3 reinforcement pack >> lol ggclose

I did not play FW/FW/FP on the Rampage account. I had quit for almost 5 years after checking the game out in Beta and buying only a couple Mechs. I did not have the Mechs to make a CW deck. Rather I played a friend's account who had quit the game out of boredom last fall. His only stipulation was that he told me not to get him banned or thrown out of his unit in case he wanted to come back some day. This account has over 50 Mechs with most of them Mastered. Anyway, I kept my head down and played drops with both his unit and in solo CW matches.

The unit was good for the most part with only a couple of overly "intense" individuals. Some matches were very well coordinated. Still it was not much fun because none of the games were competitive. In solo play, it was always the same thing but just seen from the other side. Not fun.

Now my account is to the point where I can field my own FP decks but after my previous experience, I just do not have the desire to do so. I find QP fun and challenging with a lot more diversity than I saw in my CW matches. As I said, eventually I will probably give FP another try but I am in no hurry.

The worse stretch of losing that I have recently had in QP was 5 in a row and winning only 5 out of 17 games one night when I was eliting a non-optimal Mech. I also once won 16 games in a row in random QP. Sometimes it just goes like that. I just roll with it.

This is what everyone wanted when they asked for constant powercreep on faster, lighter mechs.

These are caused by people not giving a crap that they're ruining the game for the 11 guys on their team b/c they think "it's solo Q, I'm just here to screw around and waste everyone's time"....

So you didn't follow your brawlers when they pushed and / or you ran off and left them with no other choice but to suicide into a group of enemies?

It's never your fault right? (That's the default response around here, isn't it?)

You're not having fun b/c you haven't paid for the newest mech pack.

Buy another mech pack.

well your inb4gitgude means you realise your just blowing hot air.

It's quick play I use it to level mechs solo, when we have a group of us we scout or do invasion.

No point in getting on P.G.I's case about this, as it's the same in any solo pug queue no matter what game you play.

The problem I see here is that light mechs were not meant for that style of play. Light mechs were not used in a 12vs12 attack force in the bulk among all other styles. Every mech has their place but lights were used as snipers, scouts and recon, in urban combat, for guerilla attacks, anti-artillery and disturbance and so on and were most likely pulled back before the heavier forced took over the action. None of this is practicable in the current gamemodes, except for a few rare cases in FP on very limited extend. Still PGI tries to hammer them into their gamemodes and with that creating a number of issues.
