Ok, I understand the need to help out those with less than optimal internet options (download caps and so forth) but why force everyone to go through this convoluted patching system? Why not make it optional? I don't use Steam for my MWO and prolly never will. Please bring back one click patching!

You've misunderstood the patch notes. They didn't take away one click patching. Use the launcher/patcher like usual. It is optional to use the links.

The direct download patching system is purely optional. The standard patching process with the standalone launcher is still present.

The patch is now live, and the section of the patch notes covering the direct download patch process has been updated with the download links.

The Team Chat and Lance Chat in the Preparing to Drop / Match Chat screen are non functional. In Faction Warfare. As in they cannot be selected, only ALL chat is usable.

Plus the screen seems to be set a lower resolution now and it is huge.

I SERIOUSLY THINK... that they should fit the CT energy slot at crotch height, so I can put a flamer right there.

Patch files is a nice idea.
A suggestion for next time, enable the files to be drag and drop onto launcher shortcut or launcher screen which could make it easier to use.
Not sure if the patch files are signed? But that could be a good idea too, avoid corruption and tampered files.
