I'm a steam player, and I've got auto updates selected...I click on the desktop icon for MWO and I log in, and it tells me an update is availaible, please update through steam.

I close down everything, and I open up steam, select MWO from my library, hit play. It says it's updating...then it says the update is complete, 0 of 0 bytes downloaded. I hit the play button, I get the login screen, and it tells me an update is available, please update through steam.

so...you see the fix I'm in. It's round and round. Never had an issue with previous updates, not sure what I could do differently.

Edited: Disregard. I figured it out. The update in steam was going into a queue scheduled for later, I just had to tell it to download now.

How much disk space does the stupid patcher need now free?

This is absurd!

I am SICK of freeing up space to patch the game for a 160 mb patch and it needs GIGABYTES free? ARE YOU KIDDING?

You apparently have not tried Star Citizen yet. Star Citizen (also a Cryengine game) takes up exponentially more space with each update. Also remember that PGI recently added hires textures for all of the Mechs that did non have them previously.

Please return lobby screen to old size, new size is ridiculously huge. What a waste of space, would rather see some additional info like what the queues are doing or what the scout/invasion progress. Or even...sit down for this PGI.... let us work on our mechs while we wait!!!

Are there any performance related improvements in the patch?

Also is there a feedback thread for the patch yet? I cant seem to find it.

The Tech support guys are dealing with alot of performance related issues, and other little glitches that are technical related. We (and the tech support) would really appreciate it if you could go back and hammer out the game where there might be any hiccups.

(if you need a specific example) -

The smoke clouds really eat resources, can you turn some attention to that?

Actually the biggest culprits for performance loss are centered around smoke effects.
  • Smoke from map features (burning wreckage or burning buildings, maybe a steam fissure)
  • Smoke relating to weapons fire, especially lrms.
  • and smoke from dead players.

There is no option to turn smoke off. they are necessary as part of the gameplay (it would be unfair if someone could remove smoke and see everything) But perhaps you could add an option in the "options" panel of the game, that is directed at smoke quality?

If you are going to make chnages to the lobby page make it useful, Adding more info panels, allowing us to use the FP menu options like look at leaderboards/starmap/unit details while waitng for match. Something like below (took me like 5 mins to draft, imagine what you can do with a whole team)

So many assault mechs. I am holding off on piloting my care bears. Popped in my PB and amazed at no MG blindness. Took long enough, but reward enough. Very dangerous landscape now for lights and mediums with care bear stares.

A "cluster" of Mechs will still often present "many" components and as such much damage could be obtained. Hitting just one Mech may be a waste, but a "cluster" will still have significant damage applied.

But that only applies if logic is applied to the change, so please ignore that logic if logic is not your thing... ;)

Don't like the stuck-size info on CW-drops, too big and boring. No info on current-games when your waiting for 5-10(long) min.
Or maybe keep an Dedicated updating HTML5 page on the webpage, So we know what is going on in the CW-world.

WHAT THE HELL, PGI??? Why can't I use both Enter keys with chat??? Why does 'NumPad Enter' have to not work when it's helpful in saving time with the chat line??? FIX THIS NOW!!!
