Pgi has proven to not be competent enough to create interesting maps, quantity of maps, or interesting game modes that Cw requires, never mind all the meta features such as passive planet control and purchase able additional defenses such as turrets, tanks, artillery, and support aerotech.
All they really needed to do to get the slightest clue was fire up mechwarrior 4/or mw:LL to get a feel of the design of what a good map looks and plays like, and what a simple but open ended approach to a mission scenario is either attacking or defending a point of interest (such as a downed dropship with functional weapons, or a section of a space port within a colossal city scape.)
Instead, you know what we got. Arbitrary invisible walls within choke point after choke point. Besides the forced attack lanes, we have one dimensional maps, and an equally poor game mode.
woo baby we're really breaking new ground in terms of minimum viable product. This couldn't get any more minimal if they (didn't) try.
