New players could do waaaaayyyy worse than using metamech builds. It's a good resource.

It's not a horrible starting point, but once one has passable builds, it would be better if players actually learned WHY things work, instead of living la vida copypasta.

Yeah, this is how I see it - it's a good jumping off point, better than the stock mech, but once you have that, it's better to tweak the mech to your playing style. I like running AMS on almost every mech, for example, and not a single metamechs one does. I like my assaults to move over 60kph, and their 100-tonners all go slower than 58kph, from what I've seen.

Which is why most good players tell GMan his builds are bad, like I do practically every night Posted Image

(they aren't actually that bad, just could be tweaked better, but you get the idea)

Indeed... though still better than Stock or most Champion builds...usually.

But KDK2 is "tier 1".....

WTF am I missing here? Posted Image

He had the STK-3H as top extreme range mech after the range nerf despite everyone having already stopped playing it even before that happened (the range nerfed only solidified it) for a long time as well.

I'll be helpful and tell anyone who doesn't know, when you go to smurfy, use the dropdown to load the Stock Build. It has the MASC on it and then you can move it around.

Is Metamechs a joke now? They ranked this loadout as a Tier 1 build?

That is a Tier 1 build, though I wouldn't bother with the flamers personally.

ITT people who have no idea what makes a 'mech Tier 1. I'll let you go back to weighing your opinions on garbage tier pub encounters.

BAHAHHAHA flamers.

Sorry anyone putting flamers on a mech, and then any community that then votes it the best mech the best in the game... has zero credibility.

Flamers in a brawler = overheat your target and you smash them all day with SRMs. Man do the forums have people so out of the meta

Not quite. I actually frequently see some SRM brawlers sporting flamers in comp matches. They can shut down a cSPL boat pretty well as well.

Couldn't figure out the flamers first time I brawler a KDK, till he popped my heat to insta shutdown. My SB has a pair now.

This. They are literally ALL center torso. They cant tank damage at all.

If you position right, you don't need to. Everything in front of your guns has to run anway or run the risk of being cored in 2 volleys

No dual Gauss dual LPL build? 56 damage for just 20 heat at 660m is not good enough nowadays?

Yikes, the silly is strong in this thread......even Gman knows his builds will be tweaked to purposes, but any new lads could learn a lot from reverse engineering them to find out why they work. Admittedly, he can make most builds work, because he is a good pilot and they fit his style and his needs at the time, they almost all get changed by individual taste and need by higher end players.

Most who are poo pooing the flamers, just have not experienced them yet in a face humping brawl, by all means, continue to ignore them, I'll wait to shoot you again while you try to recoup from your overheat, I promise :)

The KDK 3 is just flat out beast, T1 all day long and into the next day.

Not to fond of the 2 yet, but, work in progress...

the Spirit bear is a great brawler, but it is not a get in face, tank damage brawler, it truly shines at 150 or even a little closer, treat that lbx as an ac 20 and you have a 70kph assault making life difficult for things that twist slower, maneuver worse, and can barely keep up with the firepower, now who does not want a pre-structure buff 70 KPH Atlas S????

silly folk, just go out and try it hehe, or don't, better yet, go out and fight against one with someone in it that understands the way it should be run.....:) proofs in the pudding
