Just curious as to everyone's highest Kodiak enemy team they went up against. I've hit seven multiple times all the while my team had four and they were our only assaults.

I guess I was foolishly under the assumption MWO tried to balance the tonnage for each match?

I left the game early just because the balance was ridiculous. PGI gave the kids a new toy...

I single-handedly fought off an army of a hundred Kodiaks! It was a glorious battle! Klingon poets will sing tales of my heroism of that battle while their women lust over me.

All my matchs had a max of 5 fatties. And all bears. Havent had a heavy match yet where tonnage scale got tipped over.

The Solo Queue limit (ATM, likely adjusted due to the new mech)

Group Queue can be FUBAR on tonnage

Seems like it, yeah.

I know my unit were all dropping in either 2 mans or 3 Kodiaks + Light mech to work on XP - I assume others were doing the same.

Solo play I saw five as max per side. I didn't touch fp or whatever you call group play now.

At the very least the match with almost all assaults on both teams would have been pretty balanced, especially all 100-tonners. I don't think I'd even feel that bad with a 11 assaults and a locust on a team considering the Locust would be able to do some amazing scouting against such heavy mechs.

The matches I had (in group queue as was mentioned there were issues there) going up against seven Kodiaks really put the teams off balance. It just seemed kind of dumb to play last night if you didn't have one or didn't want to play an assault.

Solo queue wasn't nearly as bad for me though. I just found it difficult to use a lighter mech going up against so many assaults. Just so much firepower hitting my medium/light. Never ran into such a thing before.

With 4 people in a group you can run 3 kodiaks and a 40 tonner. Since I don't have the kodiak due to sucking at assaults and being grossly underemployed (but hey, better than sucking on the government ***) I was in the light mech *****/scout role in my group all night. Lights are good against assaults.. when there aren't 8 of the damn things all grouped together. I eventually swapped to ECM raven just so I wouldn't just evaporate while scouting and could at least make a little money by tagging for the lurmdiaks.

10 from MS on the first wave as we defended the sulfur (p planet)... 1000 tons of Bear! It was very funny actually despite the whoopin we got. It was all over with their 2nd wave we were literally landing on them as our last mechs dropped in on the dropsite.

We were 15 down before we got our first kill, which was by a turret haha

During the matches I played last night (over the course of several hours) there were always at least 5 to 7 Kodiaks on one team or the other. Yes: match maker must have been on a vacation last night because the tonnage imbalance was extreme. However, as I mentioned in another posts I found it interesting that the team with the fewer Kodiaks tended to win the match. Any time my team had 5 to 7 (and the other team had 1 or 2), we would get destroyed. But when that was reversed (my team only have 1 or 2 and the other team having 5 to 7) we won. Seems counter-intuitive, but generally what I have come to expect from most (not all) assault pilots even without the Kodiak. So, I am not really impressed with the Kodiaks so far. As long as they continue to be piloted by the same timid pilots as that pilot other assaults they are just another big target.

I only did about an hour of group queue with a buddy and we cut it short because of the massive imbalance just about every match we were in.

From what I saw the Kodiak pilots we went up against were not timid. They pushed pretty hard and just ran right over us. It was comical a little bit but also pretty frustrating just because the balance was so far off.

I played just one match last night. My tonnage-restricted team of 8 - none of us in assaults - came up against an enemy team with 9 Kodiaks (ie double our tonnage). Then I quit for the night.

It's a pity PGI are just so incompetent at matchmaking. I quite enjoy the Mech battle gameplay, but crazy imbalanced stuff like this - on a night when it should have been easy to match Kodiaks against other Kodiaks - just ruins the experience.

In solo Q
8 Kodiaks but 10 assaults all together.
5 Kodiaks our side
3 Kodiaks on enemy side plus an Atlas and a Banshee

Part of what makes Mechwarrior fun, or what makes it more fun is tonnage balance. How stupid is it for lights and mediums to go up against a group of assaults? And you're right - as many people that were playing Kodiaks - make all of them play against each other or at least with other assaults.

But I like dropping into these matches "assuming" the balance is going to be somewhat close. Actually gives each class the ability to do something in each match.
