I'm glad i'm not the only toolshed who bought the Legendary Pack. I been waiting for this game for a decade, though i was Ambivalent about paying twice the normal game price, almost went Elite.

I think Free to play, freemium model games might be the way of the future. All you need is an Epic Franchise and give it the proper tender loving care it deserves, and we will pay twice what you normally get or more. Plus people who aren't into it can try before they buy.

Free to play is here to stay. Several big publishers are moving to exclusively free to play as they come to realize it provides a steadier revenue stream. This is particularly important for games where ongoing operating expenses related to multiplayer are ongoing.

I am seriously considering upgrading to legendary. Not for the recognition, but because the c-bill boost on the mechs will make upgrading and maintaining mechs easier.

As somebody who played the original mechwarrior and up I have no qualms about 120 dollars, especially since most people like me have been waiting like 10 years for an official Mechwarrior game to come out.

I try to count game prices by $/hour value ... back in time first MW was my champion game, I only hope that my current bid will be ok as well :P

Yeah I'm one who has no problem spending the money on a quality product. I've been keeping tabs on MWO for a good time now, and when I saw the founders packages I waited a bit but knew I would ultimately buy one. Even before playing.

The devs seem to really have done the work to make MWO a very good game. It helps with quality a ton to have people making a product when those people are just as passionate about that product as the community. For those reasons alone I had no problem whatsoever spending the money for a legendary founder tag.

Well, I plan on buying 60 more bucks worth of stuff ( at least) and I don't like 2 of the four 'mechs, so I went elite. Sawry :P

Free to play games eat up a lot more of people money then they think it does. I have dropped an easy 400$ on league of legend. Heck i paid for it and have a box copy of a game that went free to play before it was out of beta. For a 120$ i get some cool in game perks for a few months and 4 mechs. Sounds like it might not be worth it but you stack in that I am directly tell this company "FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY MAKE THIS GAME".

End of the day i wish more types of businesses did something like this. Love an author but no one thinks his idea will sell? Give them money directly. Any of the Arts or Entertainment fields could use this to. Nothing says it has to be one big backer that has faith in a creation.

looks like we need one more founder package...

ridiculous founder package (pink badge) - $500 - 4 months premium account - $100 worth in-game currency - all 4 founder's mechs - mwo legends - special ridiculous mech skin

If it replaced the 4 founders mechs with a Summoner, Hellbringer, Nova and Timber Wolf then I would gladly pay it, although I suppose in the interests of avoiding "pay-to-win" accusations it's probably a good thing that they don't.

F2P is here to stay. Just look at D&D. It was competing against WoW and loosing to F2P and its profits jump 800%. The question that I have and one that can only be answered with time is how MWO will execute its version of a F2P model.

And its real easy to spend money on micro transactions. Steam has been having sales on its game this week and I've been gobbling them up left and right. I have to limit myself or I'll go broke.
