Being serious though, there's been 20+ Kodiak threads about it being OP. Seriously guys, you need to calm down a bit. It hasn't even been a full week yet! (at least not until tomorrow, oh and hyperbole on 20+ OP threads if you get what I mean.)

I mean, even the Arctic didn't get this amount of anger until much, much later. Is it the fact that we now have a larger population that has trouble understanding when and what is good and bad?

The people who bought it will tell you the same thing they said when they bought the original TW, its not OP its just everyone is using it, its not OP, its not P2W its pay for convenience (getting it earlier).
Tell me what happened to the TW after it was up for CBills?.

Who's to say that the Kodiak will share the same fate as the Arctic, stripped of some quirks and that's it for it. I don't mind, just be sure to make it justified else it'll cause some controversy, per say, the TBR and SCR Nerfs back then, they were rough, and then they got removed over time. Not saying the Kodiak will get it's quirks again, but should it ever get negative quirks they'll probably be removed.

Still be a beast of a mech though. Point I'm getting it is

Get my point? Why would you complain and what not when nothing will happen, are you expecting something to happen? Yes. Is something going to happen right away? No. Not in this case.

2 Months. that's how long it took for any changes to happen. 2. Months.

I'm not angry at the people posting, but I am angry at their actions, it's annoying, and it just makes the forums look like Caustic Valley, text version.

But this IS the forums, where everyone is entitled to their opinion....

Maybe it's just me, but I get kind of deflated from that kind of stuff after a bit. Like watching the same Funny YouTube Video compilation 10 times. It just gets old and not really interesting but annoying. Like the Recommendation bar too, in YouTube, giving you the same old videos to watch over and over again.

I guess that's my piece about it.

I like the 3 but the others are rubbish, and even then ton for ton I do better with heavies.

If it had atlas level survivability I could sort of understand all the complaining. It doesn't, and the good one needs to look at it's target a lot longer than an atlas or even a black knight or such.

A friend and I tried slotting one into our cw dropdecks and it just wasn't worth the tonnage. The only time it really shined was when the enemy team didn't focus it down and it's 4 uac10s could go to down. Otherwise it just bit the dust from laser vomit to the CT.

I thought this at first. My current theory is that the same people buying mechs are the same people who were buying them 2 years ago, and the smaller population is making the % seem bigger, as they're showing up in record numbers every match. but we'll never know.

I think the Cheetah is good where it is. The TBR and SCR deserved those - quirks, they were still the best option despite them. It wasn't till IS got a little out of hand with power creep that they were rightfully removed.

But yeah, Enough Kodiak threads already. They're all the exact same thing, I just don't get it.

Here's the part people are also overlooking..and it happens with almost any new, not DoA Mech.

Diminishing returns.

When I first started grinding my KDK3, 750 dmg matches were the norm, and even if my team flat ailed and I dies in 2 minutes, 400 dmg and 2 kills was the norm.

The hellfire and brimstone from all that Dakka. And every team having 5-6 assaults, oftentimes all KDKs. And the masses panicked and died when they faced the Dakka.

And then....

A funny thing started to happen (at least outside the underhive). My scores started to go down, not hugely, but a definite downward trend. Whats more, as the weekend progressed I noticed something...even though the number of KDKs diminished and DWFs and MALs and AS7s started to appear again (heck we have at least 4027 individual KDK3s alone that qualified for this event)....

But what was more... player behavior started to change. Black Widows and MAD-3s and Bounty Hunters would stand their ground, and oftentime....WIN the exchange against the "invincible" KDK.

What happened? Good players stopped panicking, people started to understand the weaknesses of the chassis (DPS dmg, huge CTs able to be hit from any direction and overrated mobility) and started figuring out that the KDK is indeed a glass cannon.... and that especially IS mechs with PPFLD, can fire and twist whereas the KDK is limited against that at best.

Mind you, the bad players,which sadly is the majority, still won't learn, and still scream the sky is falling. But then many of these are the same players still crying "LRMs OP" and refusing to learn to use cover.

The point? As people come to understand the KDK, more and more adapt...and even the most evil of them all, the KDK3 is hardly the unstoppable bogeyman anymore. And I have a feeling the trend will continue the downward spiral until it settles.

Anyone recall, even with it's huge CT the amount of QQ over the DWF?

Give it til the next patch to normalize, people to adapt...and then make the call. Perhaps it realyl is "OP", but it's much too early to make a definite call, it's not a blatantly obvious, the whole game taken over by the MEta, like with the 3x ERPPC TBolts, and such.

If DakkaBear is the official mech of RHoD, MLMW; then yes, that's a good indication it might need ot be addressed.

Eh my Jenner still likes munching bears for breakfast, they're not OP, you just have to know how to play your teams strength against them correctly. And Atlases handle really well against them as well and usually win. And I don't hear anyone whining about how Atlas is OP.

This past week I've seen 3-4 Kodiaks in each team, almost every match.

This past week I've died to Kodiaks about 1/4 to 1/3 of the times.

This must mean Kodiaks are OP!!!
