Cracks me up when folks get down on someone for a build that works for them.Im not gonna say it's a Kodiak killer but I have ran the lbx10,3srm4 and 3 medium lasers build and crushed a few Kodiak myself or inflicted soo much damage rendering the Kodiak almost useless for front line work.the build can work in pug matches but probably not soo much in coordinated drops/meta play.
I'm no tier 1 player just a so so player that likes having fun and that build is a fun build.😃

Ugh, In my experience, Kodiaks are one of the few things capable of besting my Protector in a brawl.
3x Medium Lasers
2x SRM6 Artemis
1x Gauss Rifle

For modules, Radar Deprivation and Gauss Cooldown 5 with Medium Laser Range.

Are you saying that Atlas S or DDC with 3-4 ASRM6 + AC20 can't best your orion?

dragon-1c with uac5, 4 mlas + 1 srm6 on HPG.
that mech *can* work well. done 1200 dmg once.... its just problematic when the rest of your team runs with you.... you cant flank if your team doesnt do what it normalls does. deathball stupedity...

The problem with OP's build is that it centres around DPS and not alpha. Which equals too much face time. Look at the video. The CT is taking all the damage while the rest of the mech is still relatively fresh.

Against a properly built and played Kodiak, there's no way it will win. A good Spirit Bear brawler will not be using SSRMs, it will be 4xSRM6 and a LBX20. It will alpha OP's face, twist away the damage to the arms, and alpha again. OP will be dead in at most 3 alphas. The KDKs in the videos were played poorly and were face tanking the damage. They even charged straight into OP's optimum range. A laser vomit KDK would vapourise OP from 300+ metres away before the SRMs and SLas could be brought into play

I'll give it to OP that it's a pretty good high DPS build and it's built to the strengths of the Orion variant. But a Kodiak killer it is not.

Build is fine, but i dont see the point of small lasers on large mechs, rather have heat sinks and if ur cool change all lasers to medium instead, 1 large laser isnt enough to poke with imo.

Personally I only play -VA and -K variants. They are pretty sweet.

I have beaten a Brawler Timby, and a few SplatCats, but oddly enough, I have never fought an AS7-S or AS7-DDC. K and RS yes, I have beaten those, but I rarely see Atlases. KCG's and DWF's will also wreck my ***, but then again, 100 ton IS mechs are getting pretty rare.

Upclose will be very hard for you. I'm not joking.

An ON1-VA can mount atlas firepower with 25% missile cooldown.

I've killed a 4UAC10 Dire (back when Kodiaks did not exist) with an SRM WHK-B in a private 1v1. Your dakka build will not give you the same reliable DPS, or the in your face alpha strike.

I own all of the Orions, I am not worried about it
