What Would The Javelin Be Like?

Well, from what I see, it would EASILY be a replacement for the Oxide. Allow me to explain:
1. Probably will have 4 missile hardpoints since 2 missile systems are the only thing it has.
2. Will go similar speeds.
3. Same amount of SRM's (due to the hardpoints).
4. The ability to tank with shield arms.
5. Dropping arm armor to equip more things.
6. Can equip jumpjets for superior maneuverability.
What do you think?

There'd be a Splat variant, a Wub variant, and an ECM variant at least, with decent tanking using its unarmed arms, the option for great mobility, and a relatively compact profile.
There's a reason I've been asking for it for half a year now at least.

One variant mounts 4 medium lasers, hell, one variant has 7 medium lasers, one variant removes an SRM6 but swaps 2 Streak 2s in its place, one downgrades to SRM4s, but mounts a BAP and ECM, one uses 4 Streak 2s.
That's 6 variants all capable of being added right now. PGI would have to fudge a Hero version cause the canon hero version uses 3 ER medium and 2 medium X-Pulse lasers... Plus a Clan-tech probe... That'd get the blood of some people boiling.
That said there's only 2 variants at the moment that are timeline inappropriate, one uses 3 ER mediums and a TC, the other uses a snub-nose PPC and machine gun arrays.

- JVN-10N: 2xSRM6
- JVN-10F: 4xML
- JVN-10P: SRM6 + 2xSSRM2
- JVN-11A: 7xML (Oh my)
- JVN-11B: ECM, 2xSRM4 (This would be a dud with 2 missile hardpoints, but would be amazing with 4 missile hardpoints. It's from 3054, but that doesn't matter, so long as the tech is currently available)
- JVN-11P: 4xSSRM2 (This is post 3072, so maybe pushing the envelope)
Still though. A mini-Oxide with ECM and jump jets sounds pretty fun.

Take the base engine, this case a 180, multiply it by 1.5, gives you a max engine of 270.

The laser variant could end up as the best IS 30 tonner, but of course it still has competition from the 35 tonners.

If you had to rank all the lights in the game including the Javelin, where do you think it'd fall?

Oxides can't use their arms to tank without losing a 1/4th of their total firepower, don't have jumpjets (biggy right here), and even without quirks, Javelins would still hurt. It's not a very predictable enemy. Oxides can't change direction without losing their moment of surprise, as it makes them far easier to hit. Imagine something of the same speed jumping around you throwing the same damage. They would turn on a dime and get behind heavies and assaults with ease.

Now, if only we could have the Firebee.

Big assumption the Javelin could use its arms to tank. All existing asset is a mech with a large, deep, boxy torso, and toothpick arms.

If you forgo the jumpjets you might as well take an Oxide. The very tight grouping could be a game changer though, maybe combined with a SRM2/4 mix you could created a very mobile and accurate splat platform.

But then for extra 10 tons being a bit more heat efficient and having jjs is kinda meh and for 15 tons more 45tonner phoenix hawk moves as fast as this thing both at stock engine while having much better weaponry and there are even 2 ecm variants.
Unless it really needs to be light or you want specifically missiles i would just go with phoenix, maybe bit bigger thus bit worse at scouting, but capable of being decent sniper on top of being a scout.
