What if the only way to get dekals is via Supply Crates........ BOOM

I think it will be the only way to get unique and special ones, they will probably provide some basic bland ones for free.

I think it's also safe to assume that future camo patterns will be there as well, and all of those things they crowd-farmed us for like what addon's bits we want to customize our mechs with.

Glowing eyes, shoulder spikes, etc.

I'd bet money on it.

Push back because some clown hat came up with the supply crate idea.

I made a bunch of nose art decals for MW4 Mercs. Good, but very low res. My personal nose art was a red cat throwing an 8-ball. Posted Image

I just appreciate the grayed out option in mechlab for decals, sitting, taunting me, waiting for the day when I can graffiti my mechs with obnoxious logos.

The only actual delay would have more to do with the overall mech rescaling efforts than anything else.

Decals are ultimately a small overlay over the camo of a mech.

That's the only excuse I'm willing to give PGI, but still... just like the Decals tab we have today, or back in UI 1.5... it's there doing nothing.

Stuff gets pushed back in software development. Deal with it.

Maybe if PGI stopped overestimating their ability to deliver on balance/content/features, people wouldn't be bi*ching as much as they do these days, ever think of that?

There's a way around this. I have used a certain program in the past which allowed for user-textured content, but had some terms of service on what could be submitted. However, it was extremely easy to create and submit new things. The flood is impossible to regulate company-side, and relying on reports after-creation would be the same problem if not worse. So, they created a system whereby multiple people would pass judgement on an item.

Whenever any item is created and submitted, it goes into the "approval process". It is then shown to 5-10 random people who volunteer to be approvers. If they all give it a pass as not violating any guidelines (which are up on screen at all times), then said item goes on the market. Volunteers are rewarded with a paltry amount of said program's currency. In this case it could be in the form of MC (really small amounts like 1 / verification) or something like a daily c-bill / xp multiplier that stacks 1% per reviewed item with a max of 15%.

People who troll the system by approving items which violate the ToS lose their privileges to take advantage of the approval process along with any money they made during that time. Basically if 1 person approves something and the 9 others disapprove it, that flags.

Just like everything else that's bottlenecked due to staff schedules and resources, this has a relatively simple fix; crowdsource it. The precedent is there. Make it in-browser that just shows images of the decal and you'll have thousands of bored mechwarriors at work doing your moderating for you.

That actually sounds like an awesome failsafe and foolproof idea.
