Have you ever considered that maybe these people brought longer range weapons, so they're actually at a disadvantage if they let the enemy close distance? Basically, you're best option is to run away and stay far away - leverage your superior range against them by dealing damage at ranges that they can't.

Or in other cases, if you brought extremely short ranged weapons, and the enemy is pushing across the open toward you, you can't just charge straight toward them and get demolished before you even get in range to use your weapons, you have to back up and get some cover so that you don't get destroyed before the enemy even gets in range.

Unfortunately, there is a herd mentality in MWO, where if somebody is maneuvering in such a way that benefits them for the weapons they are carrying, other people in the vicinity who have completely different weapons tend to follow suit, even if it's not the ideal movement for their kit. For example - ever see a pair of Ravens run off from spawn to pull off a super wide flank with ERLL... and then the entire team just follows them and then gets caught in a really vulnerable location because they were following their teammates in the Ravens without thinking about where they were going to end up? Yeahhhh...

Was playing a CW game yesterday. We're making our initial push. Suddenly sat sweep and we can see the enemy is clumped up at the right gate.

Alpha lance sees, and goes in the other gate to get behind the enemy.

Beta lance sees, hides.

Charlie lance sees beta lance run, they do the same.

Alpha lance gets it's **** pushed in because it had no support.

Don't be a beta.

In short what the OP is saying, is Bads/noobs/underhive generally ruin the experience of players who are the opposite.
Thing is, MWO has the least ******** bads, try WoWs, it has a special kind of stupid going on that i've only seen there, must be a War Gaming Fanboi thing!.

Matchmaker is matchmaker.

When it starts putting you into a downward spiral just log off, wait a few minutes, log back in. No reason to stop playing for a week or two.

(Note: I'm not advocating stupid Leroying. But when I pug, I see far too many Mechs that hide in one place, don't manoeuver and don't shoot back. Trying to carry them does get frustrating after a while.)

At least leeroying gets the game over more quickly. Much preferable to "hunt the coward".

Yea, I can understand you. Different experience brings to different conclusion.

So, in the end NA=EU.

I'm a brawler, so I like hard pushes. Prolly my vision is "conditioned" because I know and play with a lot of EU top players who like to go close and personal.

Meanwhile NA do have top players too.....but since NA has also higher population, I find much more easy to find a lot of stearing wheels there.

So NA=EU, but EU has more competent players per match? :)

I alt+f4 because it's faster than having to log off, exit the game and the log in window...

I stop playing for a while typically because I got a new shiny thing (STELLARIS!!!!! and soon... god eaters burst 2 on PC!!!!!!!)

The opposite in solo que!
EU has longer waiting time due to low playerbase, then when valves open, you find a lot of hilarious circus Posted Image

But, if you join a group and drop group que, you can see competent players which skills and tactics esactly like NA.

So, yes, in the end NA=EU....'cause I drop group que quite exclusively.

I'm confident that you relay instructions to your team members with the utmost respect and kindness. I wonder why then they would ignore your commands, defy your brilliant strategy?

Tactics are usually defined by the type of mech I'm playing. If I'm in my nova, and we're holed up in a bad situation, I'll typically back off, loop around by myself, and try to take several from behind. Pulls attention away from my stuck comrades, and I usually manage to get in a kill or two as well, there's nothing like 10 small pulse to a rear torso to get someones attention.

I will agree with you so long as you are not one of those people that holds back while I try to push forward until I have a cherry red center torso and then you charge forward and complain because I am now holding back and biding my time...
