I would love to buy the Artemis, but I can't help but wonder about early access. The bulk of the people that hold this franchise in high regard most likely love it enough to have become some flavor of founder. That being said - we will be in the game August 7th.

If the Artemis doesn't launch at or before that date I will be forced to either commit to a pricey Thrustmaster or Saitek setup - If I do that I won't be buying the Artermis.

If I buy some 30 dollar stick to get me through early access I would consider buying it when it comes out... but it essentially jacks the price of the Artemis to $30 + whatever it costs. I am guessing $150-$200.

In games past - coming out with a flashy keyboard at launch is cool, because we all use keyboards anyway. So you can game either way and nothing is effected.

Now we are talking about learning the feel of that particular stick and its layout. the "feel" acquired through use is very important and I for one would not want to change after potential months of early access (beta) using another setup.

*edit - Voted no - unless it comes out at or before the 7th.

Re-sell your stand-in joystick for 80% of cost, recoup some of your expenses

You dont have a poll option.

Not buying a first gen controller, going to wait.

Good point Viper69. I plan on using my old SideWinder FFB 2 stick until I hear some reviews and testimonials from the community...

Can't wait! ;-)

Probably going mouse+keyboard, myself. Artemis would be overkill given it won't be cheap, if I were to use a joystick I'd just use my current cheap one. But quick, accurate aiming with joysticks? Bleh.

Really poorly worded poll.

I will buy one, but probably will wait.
What I would like to see is support for Logitech keyboards already in the market, and other brands.

I'm expecting it to be somewhat $pricey$... so I'm definitely waiting till after some good consumer reviews before making a decision.

Edited for spelling ;)

Picked this (http://tech.woot.com...gaming-keypad-1 ) up today for MWO. May add a stick later, but I think I'll be fine with that and a mouse.

I'll be sticking with a M&KB until all details of the Artemis are confirmed. I want a joystick, so it'll either be the Artemis (only if it gets a full throttle), or a Saitek x52 Pro.

I have one of those. The keys feel a little squishy, and I prefer my Blackwidow Ultimate, but if you can get past that, it's pretty great.

I'm not sure what my plan is, but I am one of those crazy peeps who bought steel battalion with the controller the day it launched, so, I think it is safe to say that no matter what, the Artemis will be mine

Apparently, a large portion of the public have somehow missed the whole "design concept" aspect of the Artemis, or are unsure of what exactly that entails. As I stated in a past poll, and judging from the results of this poll - unless Razer's market research was drastically different from either of those (and these from MW fans / forum contributors) - the chances of the Artemis seeing retail seem ridiculously small. Like... forget it. If they marketed it for use with multiple games (flight sims, tank games, maybe some fps functionality - think BF series vehicular controls)... MAYbe. Course the Steel Battallion controller has quite a cult following.

Combine the Artemis with that 160 in curved full peripheral screen up on dvice.com and that would be epic.

As there is already a flashy keyboard for Mechwarrior, all they need is a mouse.

I went and got the Azio Levetron Mech 4 keyboard and Cyborg RAT 5 mouse. They work GREAT together.

All depends on how into the game I get really.

Probably buy a cheapo tried and true flightstick to tide me over, then make the leap to the artemis if the reviews and the price are right.

I posted my thoughts on it here

But does anyone know if your weapons will move with the mouse, or will they have to catch up with the mouse? I've seen it mentioned before on here, but no answer as of yet. If the weapons move with the mouse, then the mouse is going to smash joystick speeds... if the weapons have to catch up, then it'd be more level for both users
