Are there any Poll's up for picking your faction yet? I have not seen one and would love to get the Faction Party Started!

P.S I am not a poll starter so if someone wanted to start one or point my mech in the poll casting direction I would appreciate it.

Probably not a bad idea now that we know a little more about game structure. Just not sure how to structure poll either when considering said Factions plus player selections like Mercs/Freeman combined.
Each will walk one of 3 paths, (assuming single accounts), which would be nice to have group totals for:
A) Faction- House Warrior
Merc Corp- online club member
C) Freelance- no track LP's

The other break down would be what House each of the Faction and Merc Corp players represent. I guess that would break down by the catagories they specified on their map:
FedCom- Lyran
FedCom-Fed Sun
Draconis
Free Worlds League
Capellan Confederation
Free Rasalhauge Republic
Periphery (I guess they have this as the one to click on if going Freelance so it knows not to count LP's).

Anyone know how to set up something capturing this data?

Until we know what factions are available and if FedCom is one faction or house based, I'd say hold off a poll.

Just the top three then would be easy enough for a gross count of who was planning on each of theses w/o Faction association for now.

You can always look in the House folders for an idea too. But some of us have always been up front about where we belong

There are lots of them, they are just buried quiet deeply in the forums, so trying search and bumping one of them would be ideal. If you won't find them, however, then a new one with no choice of separate St. Ives and Davion/Stiener would be nice.

One other point I would like to strongly make. Liao and the Capellan Confederation is NOT a speed bump! Allow me to elaborate.....

Back in the EGA version of MPBT Liao WAS a severely underpopulated House. Although the same could be said for a few others( I was actually in Marik and we could barely staff our districts). Liao still managed to hold it's own generally through alliances non aggression pacts and a series of contracts with large and small competent mercenary units.

Fast forward to MPBT Solaris. Liao not only could hold our own Popultion wise we were on par with all Houses BUT Davion. Our Command and Control, Diplomacy and smart Merc contracting with some of the best units available (BR's, CH's and IB just to name a few) allowed us not only to hold our own but make multiple effective assaults on any House we chose. Anyone remember the House wars? I KNOW everyone elses Duty Officers/ Offensive/Defensive coordinators cringed when they saw me put on the OD for Liao. They knew I'd use every legal tactic (and some questionable ones ) to insure our House came out ahead. It wasn't a question of where do they attack Liao it was a question of where are those crazy S O B's attacking tonight.

Jump to MPBT 3025. Same story numbers were never a huge issue for us. Our core leadership excels at making friends and effective alliances. Plus we're just so darn cool! .

Now we have suffered in some of the smaller settings because the core group as with most units fragmented. But make no mistakes Ladies and Gentlemen. Liao is here. We have begun our regrouping and we will be as capable and as strong as any House in the Inner Sphere.

In short our glorious Chancellor, The Light of Celestial Wisdom, The Flower of Universal Knowledge, The Glory of the Universe, Master of a Thousand Worlds, will be the next Ruler of the Inner Sphere.

hmm... he protest too much methinks ;-)
Yes working for CC was great for KnT, we always had contracts and always had nice battles ( I fondly remember a marathon defence of the capitol with a combined KnT/CH lances holding back waves of Davion forces) and good relations. It was nice to report directly to BW and avoid complex CoC issues.

As Kyll states being in such a smaller state you get more action

Seems to be quite a few threads worring about "what if all join as Faction, or all join as freeman" along w the "state your loyality" part of each House page. Haven't found good poll based on actual 1 of 3 paths we will each walk.

If you reside in the IS you are going to be somebodys speed bump along the way. That Fed Com alliance isn't exactly granite hard & folds like a lawn chair. (Welcome to the IS).
Theres a good transparent map overlay showing 3132 to 3064 in one image somewhere online, but forgot where & could not find real quick. I only have copy on hard drive, & don't know how you stick pics in here. Maybe if anyone finds it they could stick it up. Pretty interesting.

Kind of cool looking IS political map or two, at 3052, its a little beyond where we start.
The red on our map is so bright, its hard on the eyes, I think it should probably be destroyed. You know, just to pretty things up a bit.

That first map is incorrect, the FRR has 9 worlds after the truce, that map show's 7 . Space Vikings forever!

It's correct for the time displayed. As of what, 3052 or so FRR was down to 7 planets. The top overlay is 3064.
Of course some would agrue whether there is any FRR after the Clan finish w them, only the Rasalhague Dominion meld w GB.

Picking a sole house would leave me torn......in tabletop i play the 10th lyran guards as well as the 2nd swords of light and the 2nd deiron regulars for my IS forces...sadly all my guys got beat to heck during the jihad, in the end i will probably have to go with my first love, best explaned by the tattoo on my shoulder-
