A long time ago, in a PGI galaxy apparently far far away, we were told that the first clan hero would almost definitely be a Timberwolf.

Then there was a sequel, and we were told the only thing holding up a Timberwolf hero and others was textures or some other crap I can't quite remember but I'm pretty sure it was something like that...

The third movie has arrived, and instead of a Timberwolf, we had a Kodiak and we were told by the internet to expect Viper and Night Gyr heroes, but also... another Catapult hero for the rebels!

Where is our Timberwolf hero? Do we need to suffer through a bunch of prequels? I mean, we kind of already did with all of the unseen.

Seriously. I want it. I'm waiting. What gives, guys? All of the excuses, none of the panning out and none of the delivering.

What would a TBR hero even do, exactly? The thing is already bristling with hardpoints of every type in every location.

They could make one up? I know there are a few "hero's" out there that used the TBR.

Imo the best is make a TBR hero with a left a Ballistic hard point. That alone I would buy it for lol.

Summoner could be made great with a Hero giving it some more energy slots as well.

TBR-PRYDE

A non-standard alternate configuration of the Timber Wolf, this configuration was famously used by Star Colonel Aidan Pryde. The primary long range weapons are a pair of ER Large Lasers which are backed up by a pair of LRM-20s for long range combat. For close combat, two ER Medium Lasers are carried as well as an ER Small Laser. The Pryde Configuration also mounts four jump jets making it highly maneuverable.

Would just need Falcon Guards camo, and it'd be perfect.

I don't understand this either. There are ALWAYS players new and old asking about "which mastery pack I should buy" (go up to new player help and see what I am talking about). This fact suggests to me (yes I am being snide here) that people, perhaps lots of people are shelling out $ to buy mastery packs. To sell more mastery packs to these people, people that have already and repeatedly expressed a desire to buy them, PGI needs a Hero, a Champion and one other variant.

Demand? I'd like to introduce you to Supply - doh, where's Supply?

Why this isn't a priority for PGI to put into the game I cannot fathom. This is a company after all that appears so hard up for cash that they plan on charging us to save more than 2 drop decks, when that feature is finally offered after years of it being requested...

...never mind answer to my question of why the clan heros are missing just answered itself.

True, but they are part of Aidan Pryde's load out. What I posted is what the load out would look like in MWO, based off of the record sheet for his Timber Wolf.... never said it was optimized.

That's why you take the small laser for that extra oomph.

The only thing a hero TBR will offer, is prolly some meh paintjob at this point.

Moreover, strongest omnipods for TBR, are bound to have awful negative quirks.

So there is no way something worthwhile will arrive with a hero TBR model.

The Hero Mechs do not have to be OP or even the best variant of the chassis. They just have to have a story behind them, a special loadout and maybe a destinguishing camo scheme. It would be nice if they added something to the chassis like custom hardpoints but it is not absolutley necessary. I would love to see a TW hero. I would also love to see a Summoner hero that would add something to that chassis to make it a little better than it is. I would love to see a Hellbringer hero to flesh that chassis out to four variants.

And yes, I would spend real money on the Summoner and Hellbringer at least.

Alt. Config. M The preferred configuration of Nicolai Malthus, the M configuration is similar to the primary configuration in that it has an ER PPC as its primary weapon backed up by an LB 10-X Autocannon. Where it deviates is that for close combat the M configuration of the Summoner has a Streak SRM-6 and an ER Small Laser as secondary weapons.

A left arm ballistic or left torso ballistic without mandatory jump jets would be a start, unfortunately I'm not certain a 'hero' TBR pilot has ever had such a build.

We also don't exactly know how clan heroes will work pod-wise or build-wise.

All I'm saying is these are things we should already be getting, and amongst other things that just disappeared, are things I want. I have money. I've thrown it at the screen for other things. Help me help you, PGI.

I think they were holding out on making new heros till their rescale was finished which is why we haven't seen a hero release in some time. Now I know the recent heros that come in the packs are being released but to my knowledge those mechs already meet their proper scale. Just wait till after the June patch I think we'll see more heros after that and if they have been planning on a Timber Wolf hero for a while now I don't think it will be long.

Well, we already have a TBR "hero" in the form of the Invasion (I) variant Posted Image

It's hard to make the Hero without it being a must buy or meh considering the already available omnipods, a problem potentially shared by all OmniMechs. I like CK16's suggestion of it having a LA ballistic. Or maybe arm missiles, lol.

Don't forget the Steam packs, that has a "hero" TBR essentially in the Heavy pack. To bad it is paired with a TDR and not a Black Knight or Warhammer

That was PGI's position at the time. Now it is, please just buy the Al A Carte option if you dont feel like waiting. Russ has to get his drink on.

TBR-Pryde quirk: IF only weapon remaining AND total health <20%, ERSL damage increased by 500%.
