Decided to level these guys up. I've had them since they came out but never played them much. Anyone care to share some builds for them? With ecm, without, doesn't matter.

MLX-PRIME(C)

MLX-C

MLX-D

MLX-A

This is how I run things.

You can't bring much firepower if you bring the ECM arm off the MLX-C so just don't
You almost always have to shave some armor to fit weapons

the MLX isnt an easy ride to get into,
its not as fast as most lights or nearly as powerful as others,
you can make it work as long as you dont let your self be targeted,

the most important thing for a MLX Stick to cover,
Cover for a MLX is anything that can hide you, including team mates,

It's basically inferior to the Arctic Cheetah in every dimension. I suppose their biggest advantage is being underestimated.

The ERPPC Sniper Lynx can be really nasty if its ignored, but you need good aiming skills to use it effectively. Advanced zoom helps with longer ranges.

I've tried it with some success. It's alright, but I have my adder for the ppcs. Was hoping for maybe some missiles but man this little guy is tight on weight and shaving armor off just feels so wrong lol

Try 3 SPL+ 2Srm4(+2tons ammo). That thing can chew anything, destroys heavier mechs cause they cant really properly aim a mist lynx and even decent against other lights. Still i'd not recommend going 1v1 against lights you are still a 25 tonner, and a faster light will get better aim on you (which most of them are).

I had a blast with 3x ERSL and 2x SRM-6. Short on ammo, but there were many times I was 2nd in damage on my team. Outperformed by a Mist Lynx? Shame.

Most reliably effective was the standard 4x ERML.

3 CER-SL 2 srm 4
4 small pulse
4 ML

All fun...until something farts in your general direction and your arms come off.

4x cERML

2x cSRM2 + 3x cSPL

2x cMPL + 2x cSPL

I usually scrape armor to get one more cDHS in.

It's too fragile for SRM/S(P)L range IMO. 4ERML is my favorite build by far. It takes expert heat management and careful positioning, but is actually fairly rewarding if played well.

cERML no longer have the range that made this work as well as it used to, so you take a lot more damage with that burn time and, in my experience, it's really a wash vs. the close quarters builds. They play dramatically different, can't use the same mindset with cSRM/cSPL that you would use with cERML. Find a big and stick to him. Be his attack drone.

That's why positioning is so important. I mastered the last two after the range changes, it can still be done, but is admittedly more difficult.

Admittedly, I still play my 4x cERML MLX more than the rest, but I wouldn't say it's objectively better.

Mysts are basically jumping commando's and should be played as such. If you like the commando you'll like the myst lynx. Since they all have active probes, they do well with artemis or streak SRMs to go around whacking pirate banes.

Maybe I'll have to give a short range one another spin. I just hate how easy it is to do nothing wrong and lose half (or all) of the mech because of the crummy geometry and slow speed.

Really no. The COM is potentially the fastest mech in the game and the MLX is badly under speed for a light. They take radically different approaches to play.

Been playing with the panther last couple of nights. Not fast either, but surprisingly tanky. Also been using my adder alot, so using a slow light mech won't be a problem

I use the following configurations:
PPC+ECM
3xSRM+cERSL
3xCErML+NARC
2xCErSL+LB2X (requires armor loss to get that 1.5T of ammo)

Ironically, the Mist Lynx is actually a few KPH slower than it should be.

You can use a PPC-MLX completely different than a PPC adder:
The Adder is more like a tiny assault.

The MLX is a sneaky hit&run ba$stard, jumping up stuff, sniping from above (rhyme not intended, but funny Posted Image).
If you catch the right situation, you laugh assaults in the face, PPC them even at close range until they die and they won't ever have a chance to shoot back.

But then again ... everything the MLX does the ACH does better.
Poor MLX Posted Image. I like the little bugger, but ...
