As the title says and options in the pole there are a few big items for PGI to dive into and develop here shortly. All the topics have been covered in Townhalls but no triggers have been pulled yet on any of the projects listed....so it's all up in the air and on what is the next "big" thing for the dev team.

Keep it civil here, only constructive feedback please....No ranting about just general "fix the game". Give actual feedback,issues want to see addressed ect. Seeing angry "PGI your game suck, blah blah blah" posts gets PGI nothing to work with, besides flustered probably....

I sure hope we all can agree on Solaris.
If it is thoughtfully implemented it will be a huge bonus to the game.
The ranking system alone will attract many competitive players like myself.

I'm guessing it will be by weight class just like MW4 and then a free for all version.

My "other" vote elaboration:

PVE is I am guessing a year away at best.
Engine upgrade is inevitable and I can't imagine that ti will truly affect game play or attract new blood without significant subsequent changes doesn the road.
Tech/time jump has no appeal to me as asking for that is the same as asking "would you like to by another mech pack".
Solaris will come and will be welcome when it gets here, but it will also draw people from other modes.

What I want is not necessarily "more CW/FW content", but simply better such content. Rewards that encourage people to play, to encourage units to exist, to make factions actually matter, etc. See the last year or so of CW forum threads for possible ideas and fixes. Sure, "more" content would be nice, but I'd settle however for ANY change that encouraged people to not abandon the CW mode.

I say PvE with full Single Player Campaigns w/ many missions / maps, with 4 Man CooP. {Could be a completely new revenue stream if done right. Basicly, make MW5 like they wanted to do to start with, but do it under the Free to Play, Pay for Early Access to fund it model they have for Mech's packs now}

This will attract all the Uber Casual Non Competitive ppl that "Just want to have FUN" and "play a throw the ball around in the back yard once a week or so level of game play" and not be baby seals...... This uber casual segment of the BT/MW fan base is a lot larger than the ppl that will play PvP only.

Will also help with the New Player Experience, so they can get the hang of the game, level some mechs, make Cbills for new equipment, etc.... before ever playing PvP, and make it easier for vets to train newbies in a easier coop environment, so they don't become baby seals first rattle out of cadet school. Now they are thrown into the Solo Q where they flounder around getting stomped till they leave......

I voted "PvE" for a standalone PvE campaign, which was what made all past Mechwarrior games successful. How come this isn't a separate vote option?

I don't want another patch from PGI. What I hope they realize by now is that they aren't capable of handling this IP correctly and hand it off to another developer that has that capacity.

Voted "Other" here. Why? Read http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/230053-things-that-would-make-faction-play-better/page__view__findpost__p__5224643 to see what really needs to be fixed. The 'FW, Phase 3' system for Contracts is all wrong and needs to be changed like a month ago. <_<

FW/CW

It needs to really be looked at and rebuilt from the ground up, scouting was a good idea, but how you won it, andwhat it caused, just brought about less people playing it, the RNjesus gun, doesn't make the game tense, it makes it frustrating.

Taking planets needs to mean something, it needs to effect an economy, making parts for mechs more or less expensive, not handing out a few pennies, in the form of MC and thinking its a good job done, Armoured warfare, give out 50 gold to EVERY player for simply logging into the game five days running, you don't even have to play a match if you don't want to.

Unit coffers should be there for sensible things, not to justify insane costs to join a unit, you want to invade a planet, you pay for it in C-bills, to travel there, you win the planet, you get some or all back, you fail, you lose the lot,you use the coffer to buy mech parts that the unit can put on their mechs,

These costs should also effect prices in quick play, you want to have a cheap commando, you either hope the FW players get the right planet, or you join in and help take it.


The maps, why doors ? why ?

the maps should have far less channels, they shouldn't be one sided you want generators to shield the gun, that's good but why are they in the same place, so that the same old same old tactic's get used on each map, change the positions so the attackers have to find them (Scouting anyone), stick some turrets around them.

This opens up so many more tactical options for attack and defence, with regard to death balling, splitting forces, making people think your after one thing and then a quick switch, at the moment all that has to be done is a scout crawls up a wall and tells us which gate they're going for.

Even using a system like the one that was part of warhammer online pvp would be far superior to what we have now, which is bland and one dimensional.

The other options I just don't see any use for in this game, if chosen, would arrive far to late, or we already have, by another name,

How is changing to another engine, going to make balancing any easier, or F.W less bland ?

How does solaris make arena fighting any less repetitive than Q.P I've just never seen the attraction, want a free for all, open a private match, does having a cheering crowd and a leader board make it anything more than what we have now ?

Tech time jump, same again, a few people will get their favourite mech with new weapons that are even harder to balance, does having another mech to add to the 300 plus we can have make the game any better ?

PvE taking the other developer two years to produce a game with a story in it, so if P.G.I pull out a PvE in the same time scale is it going to keep people here, or make people play again ?

I think that solaris will happen and I think it will just be a niche in a niche game, and like many things added it will peak for a month and then mr/s average will go play QP again. when it dawns on them that only about 50 people have a chance of being champions, and maybe the next 150 getting runner up status, it will though prove more popular with FW in it's current feeble state.

Change game engine, that will happen , as certain people like to tinker and mess with things rather than fix meaningfull problems with WMO

Am I the first "other" for melee? Very well. Yes actual new content is sorely needed, but I personally want more capability first. Punching! Kicking! Crouching! Ramming!!

PvE coop battles! (Armored Warfare Style)
PvE solo/coop campaigns purchaseable for MC but make the first chapter for free so player can test if they like it!

PVE single campaign of course! But really your feedback doesn't matter to PGI remember?

I'm not expecting anything big over the next two years of MWO's life other than misleading what supporters they have left with false promises and dangling carrots in front of them to milk out what they can from them.

December is when I should have realized the game was going in the worst direction possible. Now they are committed to failed tournament that is wasting 150k+ dollars on Attendance Warrior Grand Championship!

I was looking forward to a bunch of needed good things to come until that last backpedaled town hall.

Just add SOMETHING!!!

The development of this game is slower than a snail. It always has been and will probably continue to be so.

Hundreds of Maps/map generator to represent the hundreds of worlds?
Hand to Hand?
Destroyable terrain?
Proper meta-game for community warfare?
Solaris?
Game modes?
Missions?
PVE?

Nothing... it's much the same game with a few extra pieces of window dressing that came out of beta. Rather shameful really.

i'd like PVE but would never been implemented (heck besides selling mechs, PGI is slow at releasing maps and fixing existing stuff, figures if you throw PVE in it)

voted for Solaris, since is probably less time consuming for PGI.
