What the OP is referring to is the simplistic way the $120,000 tournament is being implemented

Basically it’s just lack of experience on PGI's part

They should have done a number of small tournaments then they would know what areas to make improvements

The errors are blatantly obvious to the OP and others as well

To be a bit more specific PGI needs to

1) Get a specific schedule so that people can plan to show up and watch and it needs to be pinned in every forum

This might be every other day or maybe on the weekends or what ever

We know the upcoming football/soccer schedule at the beginning of the season)

2) We have two volunteer shout casters that are doing a great job but the official PGI representative
Should be mentioned so people know things are on the up and up
Also MDMzero0 seems to be doing double duty as a shout caster and a PGI official
Nothing wrong with that but people, teams and other need to know there is a PGI official on hand

3) Stats need to be made available to the shout casters so they have a little more than there opinion
When the say stuff (like we have seen a spider XX time and it does not seem to be a go to Mech for most teams)

4) broadcasts need to have as little dead air time as possible people don’t mind adverts for Mech pack as long as its
Mixed in with other good content

After I watched these events I am glad I supported the tournament and I highly recommend people check it out

But also it’s a pretty ham fisted effort it could be a lot better

Love to see poopenshire and his co caster (sorry forgot his name but he is from Europe) do like a pre or post event show

Anyway the OP is salty but mostly correct

5) The tournament needs its own playlist on YouTube and it needs to be in order the same with twitch

6) Speaking of order anyone have any idea how the tournament is going are we done with the 1st round

What are the standings you know something you might see for a NCAA or even little league tournament

The Co-Caster of poopenshire is called Paradox42.
And, thank you! :)

The tears from the OP fuel my Clan Smoke Jaguar Solahma Crusader second line garrison mech. The entitlement and shameless audacity of this post is pathetic. Turn in your IS mech license and just drop a brick on your head.

It is a free game, you get to fight among the greatest for FREE you freebirth surat.

HI OP, you must be new to this Posted Image to some degree or another.

First off, they can schedule matches to be cast all day long, but honestly, so far, about 60% of opponents are showing up at all for fights (ish) if you honestly want Bandit and MD to try to reach out to team leaders etc to see if they will be there, it's just not gonna happen, that is too much, they are already a little overwhelmed, so many matches, so many teams not showing, or showing for half of their matches.

Bandit and MD made a point of trying to showcase teams that have not seen as much spotlight due to non-participation in other leagues, and that was awesome!!!! but, it led to not knowing if these teams will show up, I suspect fully half of the casts so far have been off the cuff because one team or another has not shown up.

Look, no one is 100% happy with this tourney format, we get it, trust me, but, it is what we have and spazzing out on the forums making harsh reactionary statements that honestly don't have any real understanding behind them is a little offensive to many, especially since we know how hard the streamers are working to do their best, you do realize of course that both MD and Bandit would be playing for their team if they did not cast right?

so, if you want better info about what will be cast, I suggest, you:

1. Contact every team captain personally and guarantee that their team will show (or at least 8 members)

2. Set up a schedule to reflect that

3. be there for every one of the matches you confirm regardless of time or date

4. good luck Posted Image

Bandit and MD work very hard to do the best they can, and many many non-comp teams have had their matches casted, and that is awesome. because you are not featured daily, is no reason to go crazy and do this silly freak out Posted Image

Has your team missed a designated start yet? even one? if so, that would have borked the cast if you were scheduled to be cast...think about it. Bandit and MD scramble around and try to get ANY game they can right now, and I find your post to be uninformed and without merit.

Thanks bandit and MD, Poopenshire, we appreciate your efforts.

I'm enjoying the streams. I've seen numerous nights worth. I think Bandit and MD are doing well. Numerous times, teams have been very gracious and worked directly with them in order to be streamed, usually delaying their start time, essentially standing around and waiting 15 - 30 minutes to keep a full rotation going during the NA round twitch coverage.

They COULD advertise what matches they are going to attempt to stream, but there is zero chance that is what would actually be covered. Why say something you have little faith in actually transpiring?

It's hard to get 16 people on time, every time, and do it 6 times in a row. Just no chance.

You watch the twitch stream, you also get a chance to interact with Paul, Russ, and the various personalities. There have been loads of giveaways. Kodiak packs, tournament supporter packs. I bet we're going to see PHX packs and other things in the coming weeks.

Is the tournament perfect? No - lots of ways it could be improved. I do think PGI is trying though. But there is little to no margin in crapping all over it - let's enjoy what is working, focus on how to constructively improve, and if we don't beat PGI up too badly, maybe we can also do this next year with more teams at higher skill levels.

I for one think the streaming so far has been great. Especially the ones Bandit and MDM did this last weekend just gone, they were fantastic! Nice quick matches one after the other with excellent commentary and just the right amount of analysis to streaming ratio. Was really great to watch and I look forward to the upcoming streams from them.

Obviously due to the nature of teams rescheduling matches and because well you know **** happens naturally not all of the "Scheduled matches" are going to be broadcast at the time they were originally scheduled for.

Angry for Stream announcements ?? The OP should be angry about the tournament itself, a waste of resource for a publicity stunt that wont work.

Making the game better to have population growth and player retention should been a priority.

E-Sports are in the same boat as lets say paintball, its not taken seriously or considered as a sport by the masses.

Some of the terms have me scratching my head since I play 12 v 12 pug matches

Like map control is a term you never hear in pug matches

Having a brawl deck is another unknown term

One time I was playing my TW and I got my butt kicked by a shadow cat

So I went and built a shadow cat in the Mech lab turned out the shadow cat had an alpha of 60

So I would love to see a detailed analysis of some of the comp builds where they show what and why comp
Player load-outs are

I will say this:

Running this tournament can definitely help with playerbase growth.

More people could end up watching it, including possibly returning players, or new ones who have no idea what this new thing is, and thus, give it a shot.

That's how I started playing World of Tanks (then I realized my mistake a few months in, and uninstalled)
