*edit after trying some other settings, still no go.. Gonna try updating my vid card, and going with win 2k settings.. maybe that will work.. But yea, i finally did a big win 7 update last week, and now it does not work.

Just another reason to get my Win 2K machine rolling again.. I got a fresh new 80 gig drive ready to pop in and fire it up!.. Just need to clean off my desk and add my Old CRT monitor.. and find another mouse, while i spend 8 hours installing windows and tons of updates and downloading the many driveres i need before it becomes off line machine

Never the less, I played it through alot, and eventually started modding my pilots and mechs I started with. Nothing like Zeus and Blood Asp on mission 2.
Is HBS making Mechcommander 3?

Deleted badcard and vidcard file? That helped me get it to run on win7.

Nope, its no RTS they are making. Its a turnbased Battletechgame.

In 2001 was maybe too soon to make MC2 a 3D game though. Lots of really primitive graphics cards to have to make MC2 run on.

I love replaying the old Battletech franchise single player games. They're everything I wish this game could have been...
The only issue is that after about fifteen years without a new Battletech game, I've kind of played holes into them. I treat games like movies. You watch it, you enjoy it, you put it down, watch something else, and maybe come back to it later.
The way people talk about "Single player gaming" here, they make it sound like they throw movies away after watching it one time.

This decision by HBS made me scratch my head. They could have partnered with Creative Assembly and created:
Total War: BattleTech
It has a really nice ring to it.

It's a stand alone application. You don't need the original mc2 for playing borderworlds

Comments are welcome.

Not that I have played Total War games, though they seems very well made. But that would be interesting. A RTS with Creative Assembly alongside HBS would be just awesome!

Did you get rid of the Vidcard.CSV and the BadCard.CSV? I've pulled them out of the main directory and it plays on my Win10 machine just fine... well sometimes it is a little temperamental, but works 80% of the time no problem.

Will it have campaign style elements to it? A turn based campaign of sorts that is more then 4 mechs on 16x16 hex board shooting each other? I look forward to it, but do hope it becomes a little more then a TDM style turn based mech game.

Really enjoying this. The way to use the hi-res is click the Zoom button, then you get close to the default view at much higher res. I needed to use my MechCommander Gold CD for the CD check, but you can get the ISO file (freeware) and by right-clicking on it, burn the ISO file to a CD for the CD check.
