I kinda like the idea of running around with dual double barrel pistols.

People are complaining about the fact that the 3rd Energy point is located on the back of the vambrace for the forearm, instead of it being the 1st location. the location is a little block that pops up the size of an IS laser dot. you can only kinda see it on the screenshots due to the camo. so what happens currently is that you fill the gun with energy first then you have a little blocky thing on the side, unless you're using one of the 2 that have 3 energy points in the arms in which case the point is mute. I can get wanting the aesthicts to be as good as possible and man this thing looks great, but overall until we see how easy it is to strip off the arms it might just be a valid point or it might mean nothing at all.

I've tweeted Russ again to ask him about such a compromise.

If the Cauldron Born has to have arms the size of most mech's torso, even when only using the ballistic slot, the Phoenix Hawk will survive a little laser bump

Wish they'd either populate the vambrace hardpoint first, or remove the bulge model entirely on Phoenix Hawks which lack 3E hardpoints in their arm(s).

I can think of builds where the current system of placing lasers does exactly what I want. For example my PXH-1 will get a double-barrel 2xERLL gun, and an MPL in the other arm's vambrace, exactly like I want it. But then my PXH-3S I'd like a single-barrel LPL gun, and ML's in both arms' vambraces, and that's not possible now. I guess so long as the lasers are automatically placed, someone doesn't get quite what he wants.

Perfectly said! I can't wait for next week so I can finally hop into this beauty.

In all cases that I'm aware of, they do apply to ER-PPC's too. The "PPC" here means PPC in a broad sense, a weapon group which includes PPC's and ER-PPC's.

Guys who've only driven over quirked BJs are going to be in for a rude awakening when they're faced with a real low-quirk, low-mount 45-ton bag of mediocrity. Many of these variants may actually be inferior to the better (1R/1AA) VNDs.
