One thing that keeps bugging on my mind is about salvage... In MW4 salvage was an important part of the game, specially on Mercenaries.
So i was wondering if Salvage wil be implemented on this game? It would be awsome to salvage some parts, not only weapons but also systems and even armor :)

Well, its just a thought ... but it would be great

As far as we know there is no salvage, you get paid the equivalent in C-bills. They want to sell you weapons etc, plus it's a complication. Its PvP not PvE and you can't loose your mech.

Still Nik Van Rhijn, it would be great... so it will only be PVP? I thought there would be some PVE, like intances as Clan invasions...

There is no salvage. Also think about this. The bits you blow off are damaged possibly beyond rep[air so are useless anyway. Also you get to claim the Mech. This is a new players first fight. So you get his only Mech. He then has to do what to get a new Mech? Sell himself at the base entrance? Start a new account for it to happen again and again? How many people would put up with this every time they logged in? A public market I can see as a better option. Selling 'spare' parts, weapons etc. But salvage? No place for it, unless your a secret scrap dealer wanting a quick in before the rest.

Not going to happen. In a f2p game the economy needs to be closed not only to avoid farming but to allow for sales of game items (you use xp to unlock tiers of equipemnt - et cetera - that you can then purchase) and premium content.

no actual salvage per se, which is actually quite canon...
houses would have the salvage go to the workshops and mech factories instead of the individual soldiers...
and most merc contracts state the client gets first pick of the salvage as long as they compensate the merc corp with cbills..

As annoying as it is you have to compare this game to World of Tanks. It's free to play with the idea of you purchase better stuff via gold aka c-bills. Single round instances with varying game modes. It's not a MMO in the style of chromehounds or AC:5 at least not yet. they could take it that way someday but I imagine not.

While it present issues (aka professional farming) I really wish they could figure out a way to implement salvage and repair from canon. Adds a very nice feel to the game.
