Some islanders are friendlier than others, I guess. With their bleak outlook, I wouldn't bet on coconuts.... probably more like the Aleutian Islands...

I am excited about the rescale, but I suppose I understand other people's take. It might change what we have to a substantial degree (this is conjecture,) but it's not necessarily adding something more to the game. If someone is sick of deathmatch on the same dozen maps, rescale isn't too exciting.

As a counter to the rescale poo-pooing... we've never had a balance initiative of this scale. And we've never had a model rework of this scale. The rescale project eclipses both the dynamic weapon geo pass AND the inclusion of quirks in sheer scope and gameplay impact. Not to mention we're seeing full-on remodels, retextures, hitbox adjustments, weapon geo adjustments, stance adjustments, and so on.

Whether or not you feel as though this moves the ball forward in any meaningful way, there's no denying the sheer breadth of what this update touches...

and THAT is something worth getting hyped over.

I don't care if the game "impact" is negligible, will result in a shift in the meta, or anything therebetween.

It is something the community has wanted for a long time and PGI is actually doing it. These long time haters and "vocal community members" who are hating on the rescale...they ought to be the ones most happy about it. PGI is finally fixing something that they promised to fix! That's what y'all seem to complain about the most: "those failed promises of PGI" Now here PGI is, finally, after all these years doing what you wanted in at least this aspect. This should not be something for the "bitter-vets" (or whatever they might call themselves) to complain about, but celebrate.

I don't care about any of that though. For me this is a sign of continued life from PGI, and it might actually be one for the community too: it might make some folks come back to the game if for no other reason than to see how their mechs look. If that adds to the population for even a few weeks, so much the better.

Plus, if I hope it makes my Quickdraws look even better.

We've been begging for a rescale for ages and they're being quite tight lipped about it.

It's like a week away from the patch and quirk pass for June and we've seen the CPLT and heard about how the NVA is going to be much smaller.

If PGI really wants to stoke the fan base they should be releasing instagram and tweets with previews and ideas put into the process.

When it comes to supporting its community PGI is way too lax. It feels like they just want to drop these huge changes without and lead up. Like they do all this work but don't show us the step by step or the overall processes before they drop.

There is overhype for sure, no one wants to get worked up for nothing. I am glad they don't do that so much but a little more would be welcome.

In fairness, we've seen the Catapult, Nova, and Dragon rescales already in picture form, and know how much, if at all, many mechs are changing. We have specific values for 10+ mechs, and relative information for perhaps 10 more. It's not so much that PGI has been tight-lipped about the project... just that most people don't know where to find information about it.

They've even talked about what they're going to show, and when. *shrug* They've hardly been silent on the process... but they're not exactly transparent with it either.

I really really really hope they keep the high ballistic mounts in the K2 model based on that All Hardpoints image thatbTina teased us with.

Bujesus, negative nancy much?

Chill out dude. Save the negativity until after we see exactly what is changing and how, and then how it actually feels in the field.

Is he a Negative Nancy or a Debbie Downer? I get so confused trying to keep track of the 10-15 guys that have nothing but negative responses to virtually everything that PGI does. If it wasn't for the name and shame I would list them all with a title but we all know who they are anyway.

It does not even matter if PGI does exactly what the community ask for. They all still wrong.

I don't see how they could do it any other way at this point, given that they've moved the CT energy slots to where the ballistics used to mount (though this doesn't bode well for the size of that CT hitbox).

So maybe this has already been answered but are any of the newer mechs already aligned to the new scale? Like, is the Kodika staying enormous and are the Rifleman, Warhammer and Marauder inline with what should be expected?

I know that they said the Archer was too small. Supposedly the Atlas was the "standard" they were scaling from (or so it's been said) in which case the KDK is probably pretty inline. As for the rest, I can only assume the WHM and MAD might end up with some tweaks too if the ARC is, IDK about the RFL... though it "feels" about right, that's not a very reliable gauge.

That's good to know. I've been holding off on buying new mechs because I don't want snag a Rifleman, or something, then have it blow up to the size of a Jagermech overnight.

Well, its nice to finally see mechs becoming more "mech" and less "jaegar". 50t mechs the size of an Atlas, 85t that are like 105t, 100t that are more along the lines of a 120t......meanwhile, 35t that are like 20t or less...

When I look at Spiders and light mechs I sit back wondering, how the hell do they even fit inside along with everything else?
