For giggles, I pasted the new (smaller) locust, next to the new (bigger Atlas);
The 6SPL pew-pew from the ankle will be realz (and infuriating) haha!

All your post in this thread!
Seriously? Do you need glasses? Can you only see in one dimension? Or are you just purposely trying to make stuff up?
All the Mechs are now properly proportioned in relation to one another whether they are Assaults or Lights, Clan or IS. This is how they should have been all along.
Some folks just cannot deal with change. Adapt or die.

Quite often, especially front-on, often side-on, and sometimes both, they are VERY close in size now.
I even listed the specific ones taht are comparable.
The sheer increase in real estate is pretty big.
Especially on mechs that were already pretty damn fragile.
Yes, I will adapt as I always have.
However, the size increase is quite large for certain mechs, to the tune of 20-25%.
The Light queue is already the lowest - VERY rarely above single digit percentages.
And it's now taking a fragile class of mech and making it more so, which will make people less inclined to take them.
It takes an already hard to use class, and makes it harder, requiring more thought and effort.
I'll be fine. I'm already a Light Pilot, and Adders, Kit Foxes and Locusts (my favoured 3) will likely only be better.
So maybe, I should just be quiet and not voice my concerns, go along as a feckless sheep, but objectively, something isn't right so I comment on it.
Most of the mechs seem OK, but the Catapult, Nova, Spider and IS 35T mechs seem off relative to everything else.

I think a lot of almost exculsively light pilots will be looking for another game soon if this goes how I think it will
Actually you're wrong there.
If you'll notice that the Commando is absent from the rescale, that means its scale is either spot-on perfect, or off by such a miniscule amount so as to make absolutely no difference if they were to rescale it.
So, with the Wasp and Stinger being only 20 tonners themselves, they will actually be smaller than the Commando at 25 tons. They won't be a whole lot smaller I imagine, but they will be smaller.
Now if you want to talk about the Valkyrie being huge, then I'm all ears.

Anyway, it kinda feels like the whole discussion boils down to wether we like the changes or not
To even more simplify it:
If changes benefit our MO, we like them and we defend them because we have been given something.
If changes work against our MO, we decline them because we don't like being taken something from us.
I've never heard someone say: "Oh cool, that patch just made my Mech 20% less combat effective. I like it!" No one here is so altruistic as to voluntarly give others an advantage (even if the advantage might only lie in the eye of the beholder). So we complain, if we are taken something that we had or at least felt as if it were beneficiary. And the ones that are or feel like they are on the plus side will defend the changes. But, since no one has actually played the resized Mechs, no one can give a judgement on how this is turning out to be in the end. We will have to wait and see, as uncomfortable as it might feel to do so.
On a personal note:
The first thing that went through my mind when I saw the WLF being upped so much size-wise was " I am so going to be dead". Yes, I am not that good a pilot. That might make me a lesser lifeform in the eye of a bunch of posters in here and their gloating doesn't make it easy to ignore. But I got really comfortable in piloting it and it's speed, maneuverability, it's tankyness and yes, the size made sure I would not just die like that in an instant and probably even score now and then, Fearing that I might loose an edge I found in one of the Mechs made me uncomfortable, I admit. And it still feels uncomfortable. But I won't know for sure unless I will try it out. I for my part am hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Still, at the moment we all have opinions about it. And I reckon, they are not in unison so far. We are not going to know unless we try it out, starting june 21st.
And regardless the ourcome I would like to reckognize the artists work on this. As far as I have been able to see, they did not juas inflate or deflate Mechs. They fully or partially redesigned them and did all the texture work going with it. We players might have different oppinions wether we like it or not. But I think it needs a big thanks! for all the work the designers and artists have put in it!
Sorry for the long post. Here's a Norwegian potato: potet

Well they'll either go up or down, but it won't be a top to bottom overhaul. The changes will either charm you, or you'll find them just plain strange.

I can respect self-confidence.
But I dislike arrogance.
I reckon you drive your Mechs without any mastering or modules then? Since you are so awesomly skilled?
As I have said before: You won't be happy when they nerf your favourite. And if you happen to have arguments: bring them on.
