Additionally, the changes to the minimap are terrible.
Bad graphics, messy, small, floating marker, lag on updates so the info is 'old', no directional, and no indication of where your legs vs torso are, so those who pilot and determin legs by that are pretty boned right now.
Thankfully, there's a hot fix coming for that.
Which mechs movement archtypes were changed?

I'll wait to see it play out before I start bitching about the end of light mechs as we know it. Frankly I'm happy they actually make sense now.
But for the love of all things holy, PGI did not make these changes to 'balance' the game, and people need to disconnect balance from this change. 'Mechs will be balanced from this point now that they're actually consistent.
"Consistent scaling method"? "Actually consistent"? have you even attempted to compare the Wolfhound to the Catapult?
That's a 30 ton difference and they're the same ******* size now. If that's your definition of consistent you need to go look up the definition of the word.

People will say the tonnage difference is in the beak.. i like to compare the wolfhound with the spider. This is the most egregious example of how bad the scaling is. There is no way you can justify a 5 ton difference between those two mechs PERIOD.

Ruined as a scout mech too, if you see the enemy team now there's no way you're getting back without taking very heavy damage.

If they introduce some general shrinkage in the next patch, we might be getting somewhere..

Really all the light jocks bitching, just shows the crutch you relied on to be good, overly small mechs, wonky hit boxes, lag shield, ect. Ect. The good pilots still make it work, so figured it out....

No man, it's not the speed, it's the handling nerf they received.. they feel like your piloting a medium now.. THAT'S what took the fun away for me the most. If you don't feel like your piloting a light, why take it out?
Lct's from now on i guess..

I tend to be primarily a Medium pilot, and even I can tell that the Lights just fell of the Nerf Tree and hit every flipping branch on the way down, with the obvious exception of the Locust. That thing was already hard to hit before, now it's as tiny as its namesake compared to its light brethren.
The 35 tonners especially did not need to get that big. I played both the Panther and the Wolfhound quite a bit when they came out, and they were fragile enough back then when they had smaller hit boxes. Now that they've grown as much as they have, they're going to need serious armor/structure buffs to counter balance the fact their hit boxes have all but doubled in size.
The nerfing to their movement archetype is an even further exacerbation of the problem. But that's dependent on the map more than anything. Some maps they can still zip around like they should, but others, take Canyon Network for example. Their movement options on a map like that have been significantly reduced thanks to their movement archetype changing.
Any idiot knows that reducing the available options for maneuvering a mech is a stupid flipping idea.
But, almost all the problems with light mechs in the game can be traced back to the core game mechanics themselves. Not to mention the PSR XP system is so obscenely biased towards damage, which lights are incapable of matching the output of larger mechs, with extremely rare outliers.
As I've said before, lights are not brawlers, they are supposed to be scouts and skirmishers. Find the enemy, tickle them, RUN THE F*** AWAY, and kite enemy mechs out of position, either into an ambush, or to reduce the number of enemy mechs facing your main force.
But, the problem there is, the maps in this game do not allow for such tactics, with one or two outlying exceptions, mostly the snowy maps, but even then those maps are still too small to allow for mechs to be goaded out of position easily.

so you wouldn't mind when my mech is now superbig as in 1000px high but only 1 px wide? bcause bigger I worse right?
and that relates to what I wrote how? I said that IS got only larger in its most important lights while clan side stayed more or less the same (which is in the case of the uller a gross failure since it is still simply to large for its slowness....)
