Just a small point - the new Catapult is smaller than certain Lights.

Such a bad idea. We've lost our two advantages: 'Speed Tweak' and now size. Now all light 'mechs are going to be even easier to kill. The loss of diversity that this will turn some players off from playing (and paying).

Well light mech is scout and minor fire support - not damage dealers, assault slayers, thought many playes are get used to opposite point. Experienced pilots still will do thing on light mechs but now they need be really carefull. And well most of heavies and assults grown in size too even atlas. Ppl forgotten one thing about lights - proper pilot of light must don't get hit at all... period(ppl who played at least 50-60 games on locust know what i mean).

Locust is smaller.
Only one really that is.

As far as I can tell, all 35T IS mechs and the Spider need dropping down at least 8% in size.

Its not that this happened which really makes me wonder what the hell is going on. What really draws my question mark is how not just one person, but several people sat down and did this thinking it was a good idea and a bunch more people higher up the PGI food chain thought this was a good idea and said "Yes. I like what you have done here. Continue." and now it is a reality. I am trying to imagine a world in which this makes any sense, and I fail.

Thanks PGI. You really get it.

(P.S. That was sarcasm. You do not get it. At all. S T I L L. Better luck next time.)

I kinda feel bad for the Panther because its not only slow but it's payload is limited in amount and locations. And the Spider because... well... ouch.

The LCT will be hilarious. "WHAT IS THAT THING AT MY FEET"

looks like I wont be buying wolfhounds though

I dearly hope the Locust will lose its structure quirks if it's shrinking by that much. It's already bad enough taking out a superquirked 1V with its ridiculous structure and accel/decel quirks, and now you're making it an even tinier target?

LOL. Saw this coming a mile away. Here you see a mixture of people that assume 'mechs should have gotten smaller just because people wanted it to be smaller, people that aren't able to judge beyond height, and people that are surprised about what happens when you apply a consistent scaling method.

I'll wait to see it play out before I start bitching about the end of light mechs as we know it. Frankly I'm happy they actually make sense now.

But for the love of all things holy, PGI did not make these changes to 'balance' the game, and people need to disconnect balance from this change. 'Mechs will be balanced from this point now that they're actually consistent.

As far as I know the light mechs were indeed somewhat smaller than mediums in previous games but not by much. But this... oh my. These "little" fellas need more quirks than before, now...

So it is; I reversed the labels, lol.

Still though...the Panther and Wolfhound did not need to be made so huge. :(

Getting a little bigger sure.
Getting 20-25% bigger, and now being the same size as a good number of Medium Mechs and even some Heavies....
Less sure.
