I've used a few mechs bouncing between the is lights of 3l,wolfhound,jenner, and the k2 using them for different ways of play. The 3l and jenner I do the 3 med and scouting. My wolf makes a great cheetah hunter. The K2 is for when I want big guns. Then I went looking for a lrm mech.
Mastered out the catapults keeping the K2. Tried out the hbk with missiles, the shadow hawk, the adder and then I found the lrm mad dog. I've been having a blast with six lrm tens, a tag, cap, tgc mk 1, near max armor and all the ammo I can stuff into it.
I've played about ten hours with it so far. Most of the time it's been fun except for when a light gets to me and despite me being within 250-150m of team mates they don't see it targeted with my tag cross hair on it. The worst match damage wise so far was just around 136 damage in a big wipe while in contrast the best match has hit 750. For kills I don't get many as I try and focus on the 'big threat" mechs of the moment such as a team mate in battle with a assault or an ecm light standing at the back of an atlas that it can't see.
I use chain fire all the time for my main weapon group breaking it up into 1. tag lock all the things at 750m as much as possible. 2. chain fire all. 3.fire left side missiles. 4. fire right side missiles. 5 and 6 NUKE AWAY for when I have an enemy in the open with a hard lock.
The only modules I have so far are just unlocks on sensor range, radar dep. I like the build and mech. It's seen me win a few matches, died in shame when the team gets rolled and the lights go to town on me up close and helped open up the enemy armor. It has nice speed to keep up with most the other mechs and can take a few good hits before going down.
There's the entire fourms for builds others like but I like this build. It will be my lrm mech while the others can be used for then I want to scout or go big guns.

Learn to Alpha when you see a poor player or otherwise occupied. Applies to all weapons - regardless of the lore excuse used by mediocre to poor players.
When the police want to move folks, they do not continually spit at them. They open a fire hose.
It took me about a year to start to catch on to this.

I am now trying to decide whether lrm dog sare more fun, or streak dogs. LRM dogs last longer, to be sure. But hitting a mech with a **** load of streaks and watching them run away also has its moments.

IMX, StreakDogs are ok for silly fun, but the allure fades after a few matches. The way streaks spread out over the target makes them bad at killing. Great for getting damage numbers, though. That and the DPS on Streaks is rather low, especially for the 6 packs.
