Ban is justified. Op did not use a huginn for hugging.

Just because it's quirked for hugging doesn't mean you can't hug with other robots. That'd be horrible.

Doesn't that Firestarter giving you flamer/SPL hugs make you feel all warm and squishy inside, shortly before you overheat and your back CT melts?

Hugging was banned by devs back in the days of knockdowns, sadly whilst knockdowns were removed they never removed the ability to report people for hugging

First time I seen a Huggin in a match I asked the pilot "What kind of name is that?" I am not sure if he got the reference. Posted Image

Where's Rogue Jedi or Koniving, our resident CoC guys when you need them? If it's in the rules somewhere, they'll know where. :)

Seriously though, I see hugging a lot for it to be reportable offense. Not that I'm going to start hitting report for it but would just like to know the official ruling on this one.

How DARE you hug him, young man and/or woman? Didn't you read the Academy Code of Conduct? You are not to hug in the mech bay, in the mech itself OR with your mech!

and this is a totally legitimate tactic, I once pinned another assault to a wall with my Atlas and every time he fired I showed him my dead side then turned back and splatted him with my quad srm 6.

Willfully or repeatedly blocking teammate ‘Mechs or weapon trajectories.

The important bit is Teammates. Nothing about blocking an opponents mech.

The only even remote possibility would be reporting you for exploit because collisions suck in this game and mechs warp all over...but man if that isnt a stretch. lol.

Forget hate language. If you want to really make somebody squirm just ask if something is a bannable offense, and should I report *****.

I can report anybody I want to PGI. But I have a feeling that they have to be doing something that directly makes other players enjoy the game less. I also have a feeling that other than pure felony level threats or obvious aimbot software, nobody gets banned for a first offense or without one "time out".

Do not think in terms of what specific behavior can I get away with to make my gameplay easier. Just ask yourself does my behavior have a negative impact on others. PGI can ban anybody for any reason they see fit. This is their game, just like private property, you may be asked to leave at anytime.

Now if you were below an enemy and caused them to be pinned this is just good "dirty fightin". There have been plenty of mechanics that folks have used in the past that were probably outright exploits, but as long as the code allowed it and PGI did not make a statement concerning it nobody was banned to my knowledge. (see UAC no jam and MG/flamer spam)
