Getting Kind Of Irritated At The Lack Of Movement On Pve

But my patience wears thin anyway. Russ could at least mention how many projects are still in the pipeline ahead of it, if they've even penciled it in at all.
I thought they were going to start work shortly after releasing FW Phase 3, but unless they are doing it concurrently with the things in the 3-month road map, there probably isn't even a Word document with design notes.

When PGI discovers that the PvP golden cows teats are getting dry, they will switch into PvE/COOP game mode and try to produce a traditional MechWarrior stand alone product.
In other words, don't get your hopes up.

I recently discovered what happened to the Heavy Gear franchise and it made me throw up in my mouth.

Russ also said that they consider MWO a long term project and that they have plans for a single player campaign that will be like a combination of the first Mechwarrior game and MW2:Mercs. And that description is basically the best possible description anyone could give for a Mechwarrior game, as far as I'm concerned. But Russ has been known to overestimate and exaggerate, so I'll take it with a mountain of salt and not really worry about it.

Since I'm not familiar with whats going on over there - what about it is making you throw up in your mouth ?
And on topic. PvE is highly wanted by myself and lots of others. But realistically its not going to make it in the game. And sadly I see this game being offline by the middle of next year.

I stopped caring a while ago to be true. This game will run some more years or maybe even longer but it will basically be what we have today when the servers go down. Take it as it is and enjoy it as it is. Hoping for features that will never come is the path to the dark side...

Did you know there is like 10 arena pvp shooters coming out this or next year or are already out? The strongest of the bunch is a Solaris like game from Sony using VR called "Rigs". My point being is MechWarrior online is way better than any of them.
Anyway to make a long story short about all the competition not comparing to MechWarrior Online, I fully expect this game will only be doing better over time. All the competition wishes they were in Mechwarrior Onlines shoes.

They tried to make Heavy Gear (essentially a Mechwarrior clone with smaller mechs) into an esport by combining Quake Arena with Mechassault. It's just... it's the mecha equivalent of Transverse, in the sense that it's a really cheap production trying to ride a wave of other popular games, while having clearly outdated graphics. And they tried to make it more accessible to casual fans by including emotes and stuff, like Overwatch.

Well, at least they were upfront about being an arena game specifically tailored for eSport.

I would be happy to be proved wrong. I like a number of things MWO brings to the table.
But it has too many issues, horrible development pace and ability, and a severely diminishing player base (out of an already small one), of which it seems a lot of die hards (much less more casuals) are no longer willing to invest.
It feels like the beginning of the end.

I believe PvE implementation as an incremental process.
Bits and pieces get added to the game overtime before combining to form PvE mode.
I see academy AI improvement and tweaking as laying the foundation for PvE.

Which reminds me the travesty that is Nosgoth Online.
Taking the rich lore and world settings of Legacy of Kain series and turn into an arena fighter/shooter.
