that is how IS works.
Clan mechs can have more weapons that do more damage and from further away, and their mechs are more resilient to damage unless IS use standard engine which makes the difference in loadout even worse.
It's not even debatable. It's like saying that a regular car would be just as fast in a rally as a rally car because they have the same top speed.
Don't come dragging with shorter laser duration, because that's been debunked long ago.
Also, heat, that doesn't matter when the enemy is already dead.
