Really they should try it. This game could do with a fairly plain forest map and rolling sand dunes map to. If one of these work then add the other two as "simple" maps. Just to get the map numbers up if nothing else.

I still don't think maps are a problem, it's these game modes. What they should do is give quickplay re-spawns, double every mech's speed, quarter every level's size and add treasure boxes. There, the CoD/e-sports crowd is happy. Then, have huge, open CW maps, ditch the gates and canyons, add COF, a new heat scale, new radar modes, then the simulator/lore guys are happy. New maps won't solve anything. But I am down for some purple mountains and amber waves of grain.

I don't think that forest is worse, But I miss the cave it gave the map some unique touch.

I hope PGI does a undergorund map for once like the large facility in MW3. something truly refreshing would be cool.

As long as LRMs can still be used, at least somewhat. That weapon already sucks enough as is without a cave map.

Everytime this comes up I make the same request:

Reworked maps are fine, new maps are better. I want the following:

Give us a jumpship map, that is to say where we are fighting on the surface of a jumpship. A giant sun in one field of vision, a solar sail in another, and a massive star field with some relatively large planets along the ecliptic. Dropships sticking out and arranged to act as part of the terrain, etc.

Underground map, giant caverns with rivers and lakes therein. Big holes above to provide lighting, thick vegetation in areas of holes, regions of darkness in between with columns, stalagmites and stalactites; and bioluminescent critters moving about for ambiance.

Mech factory or some other massive structure. Like mining colony but indoors, with more shelves and levels to jump around on and ideally terrain that can be interacted with (girders that can be shot/collapsed to remove sniping perches, etc.).

As far as reworks: make them more interactive: examples: make those silly looking land bridges on canyon collapse if mechs of a certain weight walk or jump on them. Same with the central structure and bridges on Mordor...give em weight limits (how cool it would be if over, say a 1000 tons is on it at one time, the central platform in the caldera collapses into the lava). Make the hanging cargo on River and Crimson be interactive so if the supporting structure is shot the cargo falls (creating cover or even damaging a mech that it falls on). Etc. etc.

Sorry OP, but Alpine and Terra Therma also need redesign, cuz nobody wants to play those so they effectively don't exist except to mock us

I wonder, if PGI set the gravity to earth-standard, would JJs be fixed without any other changes?

put me in the stop rehasing boat. if you want to rehash, there are plenty of fp maps that suck, of course that be polishing the brass on the titanic. just make new maps. need new hell scapes, more urban settings, more sci-fi-ish maps (in the spirit of the grims and vitric forge), i want to see domed cities and strange atmospheres. i want to see better use of vertical spaces, strategic destructibles, hazzards, environmental variations (hot and cold spots or better yet dynamic temperature linked to time of day). get creative.

I'm also in the camp of players that would like the "original maps" returned to the rotation if anything to provide a wider variety of maps (rename them or something).

Different sized maps play differently. Variety is the spice of life!

They need to remaster old maps.. Fix invisible walls, make small changes, add new game play aspects to make the modes work better.. AKA Domination....



the Old maps need to be added back but only to the custom game lobby. Pay some premium time, get a few groups and have at it.


But as far as the main quick play/group, CW it must move forward
