that reminds me.... if I can have giant tires revolving in my PXH cockpit...maybe they can add one of those chinese waterfall "relaxation walls" to the next mech. hearing water trickling in my cockpit would be so calming.....

Reminds me of the floating stone in the Mad Dog cockpit. That has a nice calming aspect to it.

Surprising how this got through PGI's quality control.

I don't speak for them when I say this, but it seems like they messed up in that the typo seems related to the Viper, which is 40 tons. If so, we can assume that they are already have the in-game model for the Viper rigged and ready to go save for a few tweaks, such as stiff animations or extra detail needed on some parts of it.

They even showed the Night Gyr on the scale comparo pic but not the Cyclops or the Huntsman. It's a bit surprising since I thought they have had the Cyclops ready but not the Night Gyr. Could PGI have been preparing the Night Gyr since way back before the announcement?

Well, the model is mostly done. I've seen a sneak peek of it on reddit.
The fact that the Viper is on the mech-scale lineup sort of confirms it.

Here it is.

The nipple twisters the Viper will be able to dish out will be unreal.

well, tis why aesthetics are largely subjective, despite the whole golden ration nonsense.

But my "taste" is influenced by the idea that small arms and hands are put on giant robots in order for them to be able to manipulate much smaller objects with dexterity, probably those used by humans. They are not for punching other 'Mechs or uprooting trees from the ground to be used as clubs.

I remember when I first saw them on the Storm crow, and found them gross and freaky then. I still feel that way now.

No amount of screaming "I'm a T Rex RAWR!" makes them seem less gross to me.

I do love the model otherwise though.

Well, if it makes sense for any mech to have small utilitarian type hands, it would be Clan mechs. Clanners supposedly scoff at melee combat and see it as barbaric.

So the arms would be more for picking up and moving things more than punching and clubbing. I guess *shrug*.

And that's why I wish PGI could make those grubby hands on IS 'Mech useful (actually all hand actuators which Clanners like to remove on their OmniMechs for more space and possibly better hitbox). Coupled with knockdown and melee, a lot of IS BattleMechs will have some advantage over Clan OmniMechs like easier time to get up.

I know that Bandito has been proposing a bonus to climb with hands actuator on, but it's like... I dunno....

I thought so. There seems to be more work to be done with it however, considering when Cockpit Overviews involve the mech not moving in some cases. Probably either a new walking animation, or an attempt to try and rip an old walking animation and apply it to a different model/mech. Thanks for the sneak peak though, I must have missed it when skimming there awhile ago.

Possibly, or the fact that it was easily determined the scale size of it, while the Cyclops and Huntsman were more difficult. The concept art of the Gyr looks easily distinguishable because the art was done in such a way that both artist of concept and in-game could agree on. The Cyclops art looks scaled to fit, to not be so towering. Even then if it's not that, there may be problems with even the in-game model itself for it's shape, hardpoints, and, of course. it's head.

You'd have to take that up with whomever bet you $5. Since I don't gamble, I know it wasn't me. (Nor did I ever say PGI was going to nerf the KDK this patch. I said they SHOULD, mind you)

No, you need to do the Jedi mind trick. If it does work, you are a non-force-sensitive pleb like the rest of us!

He waves his hand in your face, which to some might seem quite rude.

The mech everyone's looking for is the Scorpion.
