It sucks. Not completely, there are some good things. But right now this is the sort of crap you test on the public server.

I wouldn't say it sucks, just that it doesn't provide as much information as I'd like.

Just now, I had to escape from a missile barrage during a brawl so I snuck behind a cliff/mountain thing and got immediately hounded by scouts. I thought to myself "pay attention to your WoT instincts, you should have known the scouts' last position and prepared for that." The problem is that last known positions aren't displayed on the map, and there aren't separate icons for different classes (that's pretty basic UI present in every other F2P multiplayer game ever).

It got improved in some ways and made worse in others.

I think everybody knows that this title has more older gamers than most other titles.

Knowing this, the leadership shrunk the map to an unreadable size for many. Even if that's about to get fixed (and I'm not 100% sure it is), it's shockingly bad judgment on someone's part, and I have a sneaking suspicion it's the same person who also couldn't foresee the problems that happened during Mapgate I.

It's a sad state of affairs.

The minimap still needs two things:
  • Directional heading for friendly mechs.
  • A manual zoom level in the options menu, similar to the manual FOV level.

A "last known location of enemy mech" feature like World of Tanks would slow down gameplay considerably and most likely lead to camping. Plus it gives the losing side an idea of where to flee to, to try and get a draw. Longer matches make Santa cry.

it seemed ok to me before they changed it

in fact the game was more fun with the directional icons it allowed you to play and think tactically (if you could)

I love how the radar map can't see beyond 1k - have to B key every time I scout someone running across the horizon on almost all the maps.

And the damn sector coordinates are still bad. There are a few letter/number combo that are just a pain to read.

Letters/Numbers are too big now imo...

...and why the sudden change to the size when we were just getting used to it?

Quit touching the minimap pls.

Really? Go on Frozen City and tell me if that's a H10 or G10 at a glance.

Okay, so... Polar.

Same as other maps, letters/numbers popping out of the screen and makes my eyes uneasy. Still was fine before (on Polar), pls reduce the size and boldness slightly. That requires touching the minimap a tenth time which i don't want them to do... but hey, we can't all be winners.
