First lets make it clear that these inconsistencies are to be expected. With over 300 different mechs, doing the quirks individually are a pain

BUT FFS... WHY THE MESS SHOULD BE ON THIS GALACTIC SCALE?

After panthers exploded in size, You would expect to see some adjustment to quirks right?
WRONG.!

The panther is a slow mech with a very low engine limit. Agility quirks are being used to counter this on many lights.
The question here is why the panther is the only light that is being punished? Only 2 variants have minor agility quirks and those 2 are the better variants.

The 2 inferior variants does not get anything... and that makes them more inferior.... they maneuver like a heavy mech at the moment.

Take a look at the quirks for the 2 under-performing panther variants:

And now the 2 better variants:
Spoiler

just like heat gen quirk distribution on energy only mechs... they give it to the best variant... while they give the sh*ttiest quirt to the worst variant.

WHY?

For what it's worth, running the 10P with dual AC2s was super fun. Not particularly effective, but fun.

Can you imagine dual erppc on the 10K with a 10% accel/dcell! it would be insane!!!! yeah no reason they cant have basic quirks like that. But Quirks overall are dumb, you give the good ones to all mech and you might as well not have any and just buff the mech. You buff the mech and you get powercreep which is worse. So then you make sure variants dont get all the same quirks and then some of those quirks are better and you want them on all mech and we are back at square one... fk quirks.

I liked that mech used to have different properties like yaw speed or yaw degree or engine size because they were locked to the variant, it made the mech. Quirks are just magical wishes taken away or changed anytime the power that be wants to. and i hate it

So far lights are fine. Those i played at least. Just happy the noobs got off the oxid and are trying to learn to aim at 160kph in a turning fight at grass level.

On the bright side, the Panther is the best looking light.

You point out the worst/best variants and their quirks. That's a start, but it's not clear enough. What quirks would make each Panther variant a worthy choice post-rescale in your mind?

Next patch is quirk pass. Makes sense to have waited to see after a month of settling, because you can't anticipate how the scaling will impact things.

Full disclosure, I have no idea why this is bad.

All I saw were a bunch of numbers that fit the hardpoints. This one has a ballistic slot and a ballistic quirk set. That looks fine.

What am I missing here.

I sold my Panthers after the rescale. They were already the most useless 35 ton light around... Now they're impossible. Might sell my Wolfhounds too, they're absolutely gigantic compared to the 5 ton heavier Cicada, and the 5 ton lighter spider.
Most of the mechs were spot on with the rescale, but the 35 tonners are way too big now it's unreasonable.

Oh, I agree. Panthers need help.

Maybe if five of them could get together to form Voltron that would help?

Panther size is impossible! If you compare Panther or wolfhound with arctic cheatak you will think that the panther is 50-60 ton mech. This is impossible size.

The 10K Panther is a better one, Navid.

What panther needs is rearrange its energy hard points in a way 10P got ballistic ones, basically one on side of the arm.

Just few ones after recent patch, enjoy.

Large damage numbers is possible in any mech, when you are ignored and you are playing on a mp which suits long range.

I have many many many 900+ 4-5 kill games in my mist lynx... after 400+ games of pure pug games, it has 1.8 W/L and 2.51 KDR with 360 damage per game average.

BUT
Is mist lynx a good mech?... Hell no!.... its horrible.
So horrible that people ignore it... partly because its so tiny and partly because it has very limited weapons.
(And for some reason PGI nerfed it in a recent quirk pass... world class herp-derp that one)

Now that the panther is the same size as a hellbringer, it is less likely to be ignored and that is when it gets shafted very quickly.

Yeah, Im with Jaeger on this one, the 10K is actually better than the 9R now, if you want to go PPCs, there is no reason to not use the 10K right now. The 9R is more for those who want to try and be a larger less tanky Urbie pretty much.

That said the Panther and most of the 35 tonners need love, especially after the rescale.
