I might be missing it, but is there a way to know what your rank is out of x amount? I assume hundreds of thousands. I'm 1703 for total kills but that sounds high since I don't consider myself to be a great player.

I'm sure as more data is collected the numbers will become more accurate as well...

My rank? I'm looking at the Global overview. And ranking by total kills.

I am assuming the question was more "where do you find the general play leaderboards"? At least, that's my question, as I have poked around the site and can't seem to find them anywhere.....

Ah, I mean the leaderboards that were added last patch. From the main menu click leaderboards on the left hand menu.

You're not alone. I've not seen links anywhere, even in the patch notes where they were introduced!

In game - go to home then leaderboards.

As for me, I'm not paying it much mind seeing that it's just been implemented. I've also been having terrible games since it was implemented trying to lvl a bunch of mechs and so my ranks are way down the pole, lol.

The terrible minimap of yesterday didn't help either as it felt like I was a noob playing his first games all over again.

So in game and not on site.

It's on the left side of the UI, next to Inventory, Select Mech, etc.

My alt account (with 2 losses, 0 kills and 0 wins) has a 61 avg score and is ranked at #21,500. I would estimate that there's about 25,000 regular players in MWO. In a week or two, we should have better numbers, unless they hotfix the Leaderboards to make it more difficult to guess at the population.

Correct in the game, not the website. And it is in the patch notes for sure. They apply to all quick play matches.

Edit: Sorry they didn't describe the location of the leaderboards in the notes. I misread your post Wintersdark.

Thanks for clearing that up. Would have been nice for it to have been in the patch notes. Would also be nice to have it here on the website as opposed to in game, I am more likely to look at that sort of thing when I am not playing then when I am. Or better yet, let us browse there/mech lab/where-ever in-game while we are waiting for a match to be formed. Wouldn't that be something!

They mention Leaderboards where added in the patch notes, but they didn't mention WHERE they were added. I'd assumed offline, on the web site, with all your stats.

I doubt we will be able to get numbers on amount of players from the leaderboard, it will include all inactive accounts since the last data purge. No real way of knowing how many of them are active players (unless you are saying that your alt account has done more than two matches, but only two since the leaderboard was brought online.

Why surprised? That's been around the number that was discussed over prior major events, and dovetails nicely with steam numbers.

And keep in mind, if these Leaderboards are only counting since the patch, that's of players who've logged in midweek in the last couple days. Lots of even fairly regular players don't log in at all mid week.

Can confirm: Leaderboards are only tracking since the patch. Note how the top ranks are dominated by folks with 1 or 2 games total :)

don't forget the patch was tuesday, so 18k since 3 days or so. 2 actually.

At least we should wait till weekend is over or 2 weeks to get the average pop of the game. But in the end, I think 25k-30k active pop, where active is *played at least once per month* is realistic and would be in the numbers the community always guessed. But we'll see.

The interesting fact with this is that those *few* players keep this game running, not every f2p game has such a high ratio.
