I like that it's a Grey Death Marauder, but still not in love with Marauders... I'm a Warhammer man myself...

It's closer to the original TRO for sure, but honestly it's pretty darn Mecha and would be completely out of place in MWO stylistically.

I never fully understood how an AC 5 was that big.

Illustrating why our warhammer arms are a pathetic joke.

well the barrel helps with stabilising the bullet and accuracy, thats maybe why the barrel would be made that big. Esepcially when you take the range into accoutn in which a Ac 5 should be acurrate.

Then every barrel for every AC 5 on every mech should always be that large, or there needs to be an in-game mechanic to justify that enormous barrel.

This is exactly why, in this game, we have balance issues - artists just making up random sizes and shapes based on complete whimsy and in PGI's defense they are at the mercy of the original TROs to an extent.

At least on those, that top gun is a particle cannon, rather than some 90mm gun that might have feed problems going through that mount....

It isn't just the arms. Our Warhammer looks terrible in my opinion with wimpy arms and crushed head. I know there are a lot around here that like the Warhammer visuals, but I would much rather it be closer to the above pic.

Someone more lore savvy can feel free to chime in here, but it's my understanding that there is no in-universe 'AC/5.' Mechs in Battletech are outfitted with an 'Xmm brandname autocannon' which happens to fall into one of the AC2, AC5, AC10, or AC20 categories, with the AC# classification acting as an abstraction of how much damage said cannon can put out in a single round of combat. That's why AC barrel sizes are all over the place; they're produced by a plethora of manufacturers from all across the galaxy and all have their own quirks.

I would love our Marauder more if they would get rid of the Dracula hair look.

Yes, we call that "fluff" - which means it is basically made up mumbo jumbo.

Eh, I may strongly prefer CGL's Marauder, but IMO, Alex did a better Warhammer. Shim's is too weirdly boxy for me.

So.. a Pillsbury Dough-boy with PPCs?

Blech.

What is that ******* doing not firing both PPCs? Why have multiple range brackets if you're not going to use them properly?
The mech looks sexy though.

It's a stock MAD-3R, it doesn't have the Heat Sinks to do that... both PPC's+walking would be 21 heat, she's only got 16 SHS... so it would be down a MP the next round... But it can do a PPC+Mlas+AC/5+walk for 16 heat.

I always liked that aspect in the tabletop games.
