Add a "Kick" mechanic.
We can then add a new game mode too: "Locust Soccer".

I'll tell you one secret: 1 teammate is all you need to get that bug out of your leg. It doesn't really matter how fat is your Atlas if it's bottom is under cover.

Literally cut both of his legs off with my SPLs.
Probably the most satisfying kill of the day.
Even better than the 4xGauss Kodiak i backstabbed in the side torso. I swear they exploded the second I breached his rear armor.

The smaller Locust is nice to have but it should get reduced agility/turn quirks, right now it is a bit on the ridiculous side.

As a previous quauss bear pilot, I can confirm this happens pretty much literally every time. It's like playing a mech with no armor, except instead you have no structure.

But for every helpless heavy / assault mech that dies via leg humping, a dozen Locusts get instakilled. In order to hump someone's legs, they have to be standing relatively still. And that makes them a target for your teammates. If you're being successfully leg humped, it probably means you're isolated. Usually, I'd say that falls within the "Your own damn fault" category.

I love that thing too. I think it is a little stupid right now. If it's going to stay this size they could reduce the offensive quirks a little, but it's literally the only mech that can get 1-shot by another locust or MLX, it really does need that maneuverability. I mentioned this on another thread that it was easy mode the first two days, but people have gotten used to shooting them. If anything I think the other lights need some maneuverability and the Locust should stay where it is.

The days of sizing mechs for balance reasons is over.
Every mech size is now based on math.

Isn't, but should have been.
But size isn't the problem. No collision damage is the problem. Fix the problem, and there's no issue with the locust being small.
(isn't based on math, but should have been)
Mechs have never been sized for balance, not in any game.

That's actually pretty true. Let the lights be small and fast and make piloting just as challenging as avoiding fire. I'm down for that.

Aim better wait locust pilot do a mistake and finish him with their smaller size they do more mistake than before.
Now you dont have to fear oxyde also you can focus on a little 20 tonns right? Stop crying.
Actually I find my new smaller locust to be easier to handle. Even if I "do more mistake than before" I am way "more hard to hit than before" so doing the mistake is more forgiving. If I happen to find any non light alone or even slightly far from friends all you need to do is "leghump" and there is pretty much nothing to be done about it.

But just pushing (hostile) collision damage way up? I think that would work just fine. Simple, no addition mechanics (we already have collision damage), and lights have to be careful about dancing around feet.

This thread is a joke : i don't count the number of quick play where i have been one shot in my Lolcust... I love this chassis, but if it's a threat for you, it's just that you're in a bad team or you are a bad player. Of course they can destroy an alone assault mech with one hand in the pant, but it's normal, they are quick.
Medium mech ? They eat you. Dual AC/20 or Gauss mech ? They one-shoted you. Laser boat ? If they aim well, they melt you. Bigger lights mech ? They outgunned you. SRM boat ? They sweep your legs. SSRM boat ? When you saw one, you're dead.
It's good that they have the speed, manoeuvrability and tiny size in order to compete !
And i'm in Tier 2, when maybe i will reach T1, it will be even tougher to take the Locust =)

There are going to be OMG he's just suggesting something from another game types, but it needs an artificial game mechanic where damage to a friendly is minimal on contact, but to people of opposing sides the damage is substantial.
Something like this should have been in the game years ago, but its not, and leg humping is the issue not the size of the locust
There already was collision damage in Beta and I think ist time to get it back.
