I got to ask, why do you like the Mk IV?

It's literately a death trap.

Oh I know, I'm just talking about even having those hardpoints in the first place.

KDK is a beast I won't deny that, the thing that the MK II would have is 10 tons lighter, and faster. While still keeping the weapons at a good level with the cockpit, plus arms have more elevation and depression then a troso, specially the KDK torso xD. Idk I like still in the arms more usually. I would say though yes in a stand up fight the KDK 3 would win, but as we know hardly anything happens in a vacuum in this game

No 4/6 on an Assault mech is fast.. pre-clan invasion 4/6 was standard speed on an IS heavy, post Clan invasion 5/8 became the new 4/6.

Yes, yes it is... but the Hunchback IIC can make another mech vanish in one volley.... 80 damage is a lot in TT (double tap both UAC/20's = GG if all four shots hit)

yes but it's also at it's speed cap. mkII can up-engine and go faster than 64 kph, like a BLR, etc.

While I have fond memories of the Mad Cat MK2 (I prefer the old mini and artwork than the horror that is the MW4 model) I know it will eventually come, there are a number of other mechs I would like regardless of viability or efficiency but because nostalgia and fun.

Namely the Hammerhands, yeah yeah it was made due to Harmony Gold doing stupid stuff with copyright's that they legally should have never had, blah blah blah, it is twin AC10's of fun instead of too little armor and too much heat that the Warhammer is. As well as the Champion, which I found out about after seeing Bishop Steiner's art of it with the cicada like arm shields. Those two are mechs I adore and want very badly. I do also want a number of later mechs. I know people will hate me but my first real touch of Battletech was the Dark Age clickytech stuff. Which mainly is the Raptor 2 due to fun little fast 'mech that can jump and harass, a lot like what the Phoenix Hawk does, but, instead has a profile of a squished Raven. I don't even care if it can't turn invisible (like that often helps in FPS games) I just want the 5X.

But yes, I don't get the hate people have for the Mad Cat MK2, it is a solid mech, sub optimal on tonnage efficiency? Sure, I won't argue that after seeing the numbers of how it would fair as an 85 tonner instead of 90 mech. It would be a solid and iconic mech, as would pretty much most heavy and assault clan mechs.
