Searched, didn't see this mentioned. Any idea if this will be supported by MWO?

Check it out: http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/

Would make the experience even more realistic and immersive I think. Let me be the first to vote +1 for this to make it in.

I don't think no one knows what's going to put supported yet, the info posted by the devs is all we have at the moment. It would be pretty kool if Track IR was supported, never used it mind you.

Those two products are not serving the same function as trackIR. The immersiveness of TrackIR, I've plused 1 in all the other threads that talked about it...

Well if you read the description they have tracking included in the packages. to quote:

The Wrap 920 VR Bundle includes a complete Vuzix Wrap 920 video eyewear plus a Wrap VGA Adapter and Wrap Tracker 6TC, making it the most versatile video eyewear system ever offered in a single package.

and the other one:

The Wrap™ 1200VR supports standard 2D video out of the box plus 3D video for a broad assortment of games, simulators and other types of applications. A new generation head tracker, the Wrap Tracker 6TC with compass, is a 3-degree of freedom tracker with automatic drift compensation that offers the best ever, “Where you look is what you see.” experience

Ah you're right. I didn't keep drilling Wrap Tracker meant, I assumed it was 3d bs for the glasses. Well, that's impressive ...if it really feels good in the glasses...

I hope they support it, but it's too expensive for a college kid like me to buy...

Maybe one day I'll get one...

+1 for TrackIR as well. I was skeptical when I first bought it, but now I can't imagine ArmA or DCS without it. There's also the free version (if you want to use a webcam and some home made stuff) called FreeTrack (http://www.free-track.net/english/) that supposedly works pretty well for a free option.

I now have the overwhelming urge to build an X-Wing Alliance simulator in my garage using FreeTrack

I have a friend that uses his webcam to do it in IL-2 Sturmovik, he seems to enjoy it plenty.

I was never interested but I think I'd look into it for MWO, being able to look around the cockpit would be helpful (looking to my side without turning my guns away for example).

Plus I have an old webcam around here we don't use for anything else...

As I used to play a lot flight simulators, I cannot imagine playing one without headtracking device. As I used to play also racing sims, I loved to use head tracking device, but it wasn't mandatory - most of things to look at were in front of you, rather than everywhere like in flying sims. I think a freelook (on which any head tracking device is based) would be a great. With ability to adjust seat position in cockpit and lean left/right within small range, implementing full, 6DOF TrackIR/FreeTrack interface would be very, very easy for developers.
Bascially it's just camera controls inside neat 3d cockpits.
