I would buy them if they had chicken legs. It's a DRAGON, why does it not have chicken legs -.-

the better question is why doesn't the parrot mech (Night gyr) doesn't have chicken legs.... Roasted Chicken Wings that bend wrong?

thats a good question, some mechs have gotten different legs than the lore gave them, which is really a bit awkward. the huntsman? alos got goat legs instead of regular ones.

When i said "cram" i meant "fit into a mech without sacrificing too much speed/armor"

Isn't anything "pretty gnarly" if you can cram 3 LPLs into it?

It's almost to the point of hilarity at how universal this "build" is.

I suppose, but the 1C has disgusting laser duration (20%) and cool-down (15%) quirks that just exacerbate it. Even with ERLL+Goose it's pretty awesome. If it had the high-mounted arm above, it would be a choice 'Mech.

Quickdraw is good.
It's still ugly as f*ck and looks like absolute garbage compared to its beautiful concept art, but it's a good mech now. I run my with medium lasers,SRM4s, maximum jumpjets and a large STD engine to be extra-annoying.

Dragons. I don't use them myself, but they seem to die as easily as they did before.
I would buy them, if they had the iconic high-mounted arm (and less hideous dynamic geometry). They'd probably be better too, because the current arm is not only absolutely massive and ugly, but also is one of the lowest-mounted arms, i can think of.

Wait, getting massively smaller doesn't help the dragon, but growing 3 pixels taller utterly ruins the Griffin ? Chaos!

Seriously though, it's not so much how low the dragons arms are, but how very wide. You run into serious convergence issues trying to lead mechs or fight up close. Really, the dragon's arms are just terrible all over :(

That is actually what held me away from buying it from... well... since I started playing (2 years ago)!
Though now I sort of accepted that it won't ever have chicken legs, so I bought it anyway.

I have the QD Four-IV, and I like it. I think it is as balanced of a mech of a player can find. The re-scale only helped it.

The Dragon... while I do **like** the mech, with the current state of the modeling/graphics and that fugly right arm in particular I simply can't spend the c-bills on a Dragon even though I very much want to, especially the -1N. Oh, the missle ports in the CT are fugly, too. I'm not sure which staff member(s) was responsible for those changes but I think a team of high school students could have done a better job for free.

FWIW: the modeling of the right arm of the Centurion makes me cringe every time I look at it as well. :(

My 60 ton mechs will continue to be the Four-IV and the Legend Killer. The Dragon will have to wait until it gets some luvin' from the graphics department.

Unfortunately i have not had much time to play as i have been hurt, stuck in bed 24/7 but on a few adventures out, i have just been playing my Jester, and my K2.. and both are tons of fun..

Can't wait to get back into my dragon seats though, and i have 3 fresh QD's waiting to be leveled..

I just got a dragon to mess with it after the rescale and i have to say i really like it. I have the 5n with a UAC 5 in the ballistic arm and 2 er LL in the other arm. The way I use it is that I always position myself so that i am corner poking at mid to longish range for the early game, conserving every scrap of armor at the start. I only ever use one side at a time so i dont expose my total width when im firing. After playing centurions for a long time i found it quite refreshing to have guns on both arms. I like the sword and board idea but having a much more flexible use of terrain and cover has its charms too. So i conseve that armor early and whittle away the enemy piece by piece. And then when the mid to late game arrives im well armored with those ginormous structure quirks and decent mobility and i get very aggressive and start pushing flanks and putting pressure on the enemy and often bully them into a losing brawl. The dps is actually deceptively decent in it because it has cooldown quirks for everything. I run an xl 300 in it and have heaps of ammo. I dont really think its a bad mech just a lot more challenging to play than your usual mindless generic laser vomit.

Dragons are fine. Just don't play them like a brawler. Seriously, when you have a gigantic nose, do you go around town picking fights with people that can kick your ***? No. You shut your mouth and play to your strengths. Seriously, why is this hard?

Range, speed, and quick refire. Play it like a BJ-1 and you'll be fine. Try to play it any other way and you'll lose horribly.
