For casual players its nearly impossible to accomplish both parts of the event.
Maybe it was already mentioned... sry

Some other observations:
- Long Tom: When it was first introduced, I tought it could be a game breaking feature. PGI needs definitely to tone it down. Make it destructibile as a secondary objective (as someone suggested in this thread) OR tone down its lethality. In its current form, LT effect on gameplay is that it empties the queue of the side suffering from its strikes. Yesterday evening on a planet attacked by Clan Wolf against FRR (IIRC) there were more defenders than attackers but attackers numbers were good.
When FFR achieved the Long Tom, the queue went 11-12 brave clanner warriors vs 99+ "I-want-to-win-easy-mode" IS players.
- StormCrow: Great mechs, probabily one of the best medium mech in the game. But if you aim their legs sistematically, they will go down. It's the best tactic against them and it works (and I am not a very good pilot)

Finished it almost spot-on though, with the 20th game only one match behind the 10th victory. All 100% pure PUGiness.

Shiftworking, so Thursday, Friday, Saturday were work days, as are Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Finishing this event in one and a half day is impossible, or at least not very sane.
40 Matches CW events should be at least two weeks long, otherwise its just the hardcore kids who can play 8 hours straight

At least give us a free for all with option for ppl to opt out (as exact numbers for FFA don't matter and some comp teams/players are looking for planet wins. But many of us are not fighting for planet wins, but for fun. You know- actual fun?).
Then at least we get to test our dropdecks against other pilots and earn some faction rep/Cbills.
CW map thingy is NOT a MW game---Fighting in mechs is. Did you forget that PGI?????????

Both parts ? For casual players it is nearly impossible to accompish invasion.
You will mostly face organized drops and you just wont win ...

2.5 hours to ceasefire (and bed time) and huge wait times for anything as the IS have packed up and gone home.
Glengarry; all Red, 34/17 (a few IS pilots generating matches slowly)
Jaumegarde; all Blue
Unukalhai; all Blue
Yeguas; all Blue
The occasional match as the IS pilots pull together a team but you have to be lucky to non-ghost (or even get a ghost; no contested sectors = no match = no progress on missions played).

The invasion... it is hard. Long Tom was more a bane than a blessing when dropping with a 12man... it would kill around 10-12 enemy mechs a game which means 10-12 less Kill assists / KMDD / Damage Dealt etc. etc... so even if we were winning... getting the event done was very hard.
On top of that, I would like to see such events go over 2 weekends... not all of us can play a lot during the week itself so even if it starts Thursday and finishes Wednesday I only pretty much get 2-3 days of playing steadily.

1. two events in one
2. lots of different cool prizes
3. and the most important thing = you can choose the grand prize - Clan or IS mech

Sorry you are having a rough go of it. It *IS* possible, but you have to:
1) make sure you are in the best mech(s) in your possession.
2) Do your best to surround yourself with good players
3) communicate.
Do these three things and its not only possible, it can be fun.
This is the endgame mode of MWO, it requires teamwork and dare I say.... synergy (copyrighted to Mech the Dane?)
To put a parallel on it: You typically don't just "drop" into the current endgame raid in World of Warcraft. No, you build yourself up, surround yourself with other dedicated players, research the tactics and strats AND THEN you drop.
Its really not all that different here.

can this
Invasion Victories, each with a Match Score of at least 80
be replaced with something else ?
I mean it almost impossible to get.
The 10 Victories were very easy to get, thanks to all the people in Kurita TS. We played 9 games, got Insta Drops because we were 12 man and won 7 outa nine. What a nice Sunday. The other wins i got with my unit and one with a group o pugs, when i took the effort to coordinate them. So, now i need to get enough games, dmg and Matchscore in. And that's the real challenge here.

What are you talking about? Get Griffin 2N, go for the legs and you'll see that the streakcrow is a piece of crap. Cry more instead of finding a solution that works like a charm.

Here, use this build. Shoot legs, have fun. When fighting against Streakcrows, just twist and see damage spread all over your mech. You know, because with streaks you can't aim for any component. You shoot three times, when they only shoot twice (because cooldown). They spread dmg all over your mech, you spread them over both legs.
Don't complain if you can't do it. I did the scouting challenge in two days, with gametime spread over six hours. It's called challenge for a reason. I can't do it shares a room with i don't want to.

That 2N is a bit slow for my tastes... I am currently running a 3M with srm4s and a XL355 so the only thing that can truly get away (i.e. is 150kph+) is a max/near max engine jenner
The only thing you have to be careful about is being initially faster than your team... if you run 4 of these, you can really react/intercept quickly.
Oh, and the 3M is tanky as all... +12/+13 structure to every component. If they are spreading damage, it makes you even harder to kill...

The prizes, new people will be happy to get a new mech, if they can manage that. I was happy to get a mechbay.
The score board on the tournament page is the best so far, all it is missing is win/loss but it has all the good info and the layout is great.
Game ID 'Mech Match Score Kill Most Damage Damage Done Kill Assists C-Bills XP Intel Collected Disqualified* Time
I love it, just missing win/loss.
Every drop i asked for someone to lead and all but 4 had a leader. This makes winning easier and losing also easier to swallow. I only lost 5 out of 21 match. Always ask for a leader, if someone else do it before you then reenforce him, it might be the push someone need to go "ok this pugs want to win, ill do it"
Do use the chat for quick input like, "they r pushing at xx"or "i only saw one guy there so they probably are over xx" and the ever useful "dont chase now" when the first wave is destroyed easily you always have people who want to suicide and even the odds for the Opfor.
Don't psych yourself, i had pugs utterly destroy a 10man.
