This is NOT another joystick vs. mouse thread. This is to see who out of the people that are actually supporting this game financially are going to use joysticks or mice.

Basically whichever is more proves once and for all which input method should be catered towards by the game designers.

(I have a feeling many non-founders will be voting so this poll is most likely not going to be accurate but whatever )

I'm running a G700 right now, just bought the G600, going to give that a spin for the MMO's I play.

you know, if all players HAD to use a joystick(which i realize is a little silly) i would be delighted to use one as well. but i think the mouse would offer better/easier targeting and since we are competing against real peeps and not bots, i gotta go mouse.

I have both, mouse and joystick, I will try them out, but I always found that the mouse is faster and more accurate then the joustick. But that may come with the years of coordination I have had playing many other games with it, where the joystick will be just not as precise in my hands, but I will try them both out before I really can say, but I did vote for the mouse.

Yeah, I'll try joystick out later.

I used to use a joystick for all the older Mechwarrior games (2, 3, 4). I like the feel of it, for me it makes the game more fun.

But I'm pretty sure I'll use whichever I think I can play best with, and right now I believe that will be the mouse
(even though I'd actually prefer to play with joystick)

prefred MW4 with Joystick, but the stick needs to have a yaw for the torso twisting or it dosnt work. ill end up using one hand on the stick the other on the keybord

I will be play testing both to see which is more effective for me. My intuition tells me that Mouse/keyboard for smaller mechs will be more effective and joystick/keyboard for larger mechs. Anxiously awaiting an opportunity to find out.

Also not a complaint by any means but interesting that the OP is not a founder but wants only founders input.

I've always used a joystick for the bot sim games I've played though I've always gotten my arse handed to me buy the more coordinated gamers who use the mouse. I may end up trying to use the mouse at some point but fully expect to be using my old MS sidewinder precision pro.

Wait, the original poster has nine posts (about as many as I do) and no founder status and he's being condescending to non-founders and an eltist to the founders? Well that makes no sense at all.

Any way, I would use both but I only have a shotty 2-axis joystick. No where near Mech Warrior standards but I voted both anyway since in the old days I'd use mouse when in excess of 600 meters and switch to joystick when we got into brawl range (general purpose madcats, argus', and vultures ftw!)

Given that it's a multiple-choice poll, it's accuracy is nil to begin with.
I did check both because I plan on mixing the two systems: HOTAS for general piloting and mouse for when I need the extra accuracy. Most likely stick to the stick at first, though, because I'll be in my Cat and LRMs don't need a lot of precision.
